For me, no contest: I'd buy the PC card and pay more for it now to ensure I had it, rather than risk kicking myself later while looking at the gap in my PC. As well, with ebay's increased fees and draconian shipping rules, less people are listing (especially) lower end cards, so the "old days" are gone and I don't think you'll see as many repeat lower end cards being posted for sale on the bay.

Here's my 0.02 on the matter.
You never regret buying a pc card. Even if you overspend, you won't be thinking 'what was I thinking?', you'll think 'well I guess I could've waited'.
If you really want to collect Malholtra, you won't remember overspending in a couple months. I KNOW I've overspent, but I can't even remember the card or price, cuz its now in my pc.
I say buy it, then forget what you paid.

I'm a classic example of what people are talking about - not overpaying and regretting it later. There was a 99/00 Bure Buyback Auto /16 that went for $20 more than my max. I wanted to up my bid another $50, but didn't with the thought that another will come along. They never seem to come along again unless I overpay, then the next person gets their's for significantly less.
I can't say I would have definitely won it had I placed the extra bid, but since then, I keep thinking I should have at least taken the chance.

Im with Sean for "it depends". The Kessel Cup Foundations Auto /15 from 10-11, I bought off here on SCF right away for 40$ because I wanted it. The last one sold for about 30$ on ebay, but honestly I really dont care because I love the card and in reality, whats 5 or 10$? Id rather pay the extra 10 for the big cards I want. Id rather have it now then to wait for 4 or 5 months to save only 10$, I could understand saving 50$+, that makes sense

agreed and I think we also have to take the 'overpaid' price with a grain of salt if we're saying it because the Beckett value says that is what the card is valued.
I've collected the 2002/03 Crown Royale dual patch cards of the Sharks Marleau and Nabokov. A lot of them I've gotten in the $20-30 range, a handful I've paid over book value for them. One I paid $70 for, once I was outbid and the card ended at $91.
Like the above poster said, months from now you're not going to think about the price you paid at all, you're going to think about how great it was to add that card to your collection

You also have to put all the cards on a weight scale and think of the ones you got a steal on as well. It will balance out, theres some cards I overpayed but theres also some I got a huge steal on.

I waited a year and half before I saw a copy of Jordan's 09-10 Ovation base card. I think I paid $6 for it, lol. To me that's insane for a base card.
