What Are Your 2012 Hobby Resolutions?

Last year's topic was a great amount of fun, so let's do it again!

What are your resolutions/objectives/goals in the hobby for 2012?

    Mine:
    1. Get to 650 cards in the Carey Price collection, with a special emphasis on reaching the 100 autographs and 200 memorabilia marks. I would also like to get at least one more RC.

    2. Keep the Josh Gorges collection as close to 100% as possible, and look to add another 2 1/1's.

    3. Re-calibrate the Habs PC to focus on the younger players that represent the future of the team. I'd like to get most of Alexei Emelin's RCs and get a good Louis Leblanc collection going.

    4. Hit the 600 trades mark here at SCF.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Keep spending down to less than $1000 for the entire year - including sending cards to BGS (which I haven't done at all yet).

Quit collecting. I've been telling myself to do this for the better part of 6 months and have just now sold off everything and cleared the even bigger hurdle of not buying anything recently.

I'll probably stick around the hobby as I enjoy the discussions, but cardboard just doesn't interest me anymore.

    1. Focus on Vintage only if possible

    2. Focus on earnest on Vintage Checklists

    3. Sell my Yzerman Collection 2,000 plus cards

    4. Sell or Trade the rest of the cards I have and come from once a 150,000 card trading inventory, back to reality.

    My goals:

    1. To focus on smaller subsets that interest me and spend the money directly on the cards I want rather than buying numerous boxes.

    2. Get a Luke Schenn 1/1 card to add to my PC.

    3. To get a 10/11 Certified Throwback Threads Auto of Guy Lafleur /25 to complete my set.

    4. To complete my 07/08 Artifacts Treasured Swatches jersey/patch set.

    5. To transform my dungeon into a LARGE display of my collectibles and enjoy the cards more than I have in the past.

    6. To lower my base card count by helping out more collectors kill their main sets.

    1) Get the Irbe collection to 800 different cards by the end of the year.

    2) Focus more on real GU stuff rather than cards. I would rather spend $300+ on a whole GU jersey than $300+ on boxes of cards. Not to say that I will cut out the boxes though.

    3) Pull one card big enough so I can pay for my modestly priced dream car.

I dug around for the old thread (last year's) to see what I had written then. Would at least like to see if I made any progress :)

    My post last year:

I've got lots of projects on the go, and would like to complete a few. 2011 is a good year, hobby wise, for me if I can do the following:

    - Knock 2 or more cards off my Ranford wantlist (9 cards, spaning 1998-2006)
    - Complete at least two of the 2001-2005 UD sets I've got on the go
    - Build at least one 1980s OPC set
    - Grow my Oilers Autograph collection (need to start doing TTM)
    - Finally sit down, and work on converting some of the autographed index cards I have (ex-Oilers, HOFers) into custom 'cut' signature cards (My lack of skill when it comes to graphic design is the real hold up here).

First one? Check! I did pick up two more cards. I'm now down to 7 cards for that time span (1998-2006).

Second one? Check! I completed my 04-05 and 03-04 UD sets.

    Third one? Nope. Zero progress

Fourth one? Sort of. Progress has been made, but havn't tried any of the TTM that I've wanted to.

    Fifth one? Not at all.

So what am i hoping to do this year? I've got these few goals:

    - Track down two more cards from that 98-06 range for my Ranford collection. There are 7 left I'm looking for, would like to bring that list down to 5.
    - Complete my 2010 (and newer) wantlist for Ranford. Still missing 5 cards (plus whatever new stuff comes out) in this period.
    - Continue to add to my all-time Oilers autograph collection. I'm missing 63 names, and hope to see that list fall to under 50 names. Some TTM, and good hunting on eBay will be needed here.
    - Downsize the bulk in my colleciton. I've got boxes and boxes and boxes filled with cards from the last 20+years. I need to actually go through it, and get rid of the bulk. Most of this stuff is simply "junk base" from the 1990s. Keep what I want, sell / trade what I think is actually movable, and (likely) toss the rest.
    - Need to complete my 10-11 UD Series 2 set still, and will still be working on 11-12 Series 1 & 2 sets.
    - Other sets I've still got on the go, and would like to complete, are 02-03 UD and 10-11 UD Reto, and 98-99 UD
    - Finally - I'd like to bring back the idea of getting another 1980s OPC set done.

Too many projects? Probably. I'm sure I'll be re-visiting this thread again next year, seeing that I didn't get everything done I wanted.

    1) Finish off the sets that I am currently working on

    2) Put a nice sized dent in my Theo Peckham, Derek King and Matt Dzieduszycki PC

    3) Start cracking more high-end once these sets are finished
