1/2/12
A new year and a fresh start. Didn't have to wait too long until I got started on graphing for the new year. Had the day off from work today, so headed to the hotel to graph the Orlando Magic as they departed for the game. Cold day with about 20 other graphers (for Dwight, of course). Got the following to sign for me as they boarded the bus to the game:
forward Ryan Anderson - 1/1 trading card (was going to sign the other cards on my page, but I told him I only had 1 for him to sign)
guard Jameer Nelson - 1/1 trading card
Magic radio color analyst Richie Adubato - 1/1 trading card
Magic general manager Otis Smith - 1/1 trading card
forward Quentin Richardson - 1/1 trading card (almost signed my Chris Duhon card on the same page, until I told him I only had one for him to sign)
guard Jason Richardson - 1/1 trading card
center Dwight Howard - 1/2 trading cards (I tried to double dip, but was unsuccessful; good to still see him being cool about signing though)
Missed out on the following:
player developmental coach Mark Price - 0/1 (ignored)
guard Von Wafer - 0/1 (didn't recognize it was him)
guard J.J. Redick - 0/1 (ignored)
forward Earl Clark - 0/1 (said he had to go)
Magic TV color commentator Matt Guokas - 0/1 (ignored as Adubato came over to sign)
Magic's director of player development Adonal Foyle - 0/1 (ignored)
guard Larry Hughes -0/1 (ignored)
guard Chris Duhon - 0/1 (ignored)
forward Hedo Turkoglu - 0/1 (came out when Dwight was signing; Dwight tried to persuade him to sign, but he got on the bus instead)
Rookie Justin Harper was the only other player that signed, but I didn't have anything for him to sign. Everyone else either wasn't needed or ignored.
Immediately afterward, drove out to the Hard Rock Cafe to catch what could be the last "Lions' Review" radio show of the season. Tonight's guest was Lions' corner back Alphonso Smith. Got Alphonso to sign my micro-helmet, plus got a photo with him too.

Thanks. Patrick Ewing was still being Patrick Ewing, so I didn't even bother with him. I just waved to him and Glen Davis when they came out to board the bus, knowing that they weren't going to sign at the hotel (Glen, maybe at the game; Patrick, no way at all).

Attended the Detroit Red Wings' Viewing Party at the Sound Board theater of the Motor City Casino in downtown Detroit with a couple of buddies tonight. Tonight's guest Red Wings alumni there to sign autographs was hockey great and future HOFer, Chris Chelios. Got Chris to sign my puck and asked if he could include the inscription of "3X Stanley Cup Champ" on it as well, which he obliged.

Detroit Lions' alumni(s) tight end Pete Chryplewicz, linebacker Scott Kowalkowski, safety Ron Rice, and fullback Corey Schlesinger made an appearance for a signing at the Fanatic U store in Fraser, MI tonight. A minimum purchase of $20 was needed to get all four of the players' autographs, so I purchase one photo for each player, since I didn't bring anything for them to sign. Got all four players to sign their respected photos with the inscription of "Go Lions" on them, except for Kowalkowki, which I forgotten to ask to do so.

Went for the New York Knicks at their hotel. Of course, those degenerates from Cleveland had to show up as well, bringing the crowd there to a total of 20+. Got the following to sign for me as they boarded the bus to the game:
guard Jeremy Lin - 1/1 5 x 7 photo
forward Jared Jeffries - 1/1 trading card
guard/forward Bill Walker 1/1 trading card
center Tyson Chandler - 1/1 trading card
forward Steve Novak - 1/1 trading card
guard Mike Bibby - 1/1 trading card
Missed out on the following:
guard Toney Douglas - 0/1 (ignored with his hood on)
guard Baron Davis - 0/1 (ignored)
assistant coach Herb Williams - 0/1 (his hands were full, so I didn't bother)
forward/center Amar'e Stoudemire - 0/1 (everyone bum-rushed him when he decided to come over to sign)
forward Renaldo Balkman - 0/1 (ignored)
forward Carmelo Anthony - 0/2 (everyone bum-rushed him as well and just missed him by 1 person as he signed before getting on the bus)
Head coach Mike D'Antoni, assistant coach Mike Woodson, guard Landry Fields, and rookie center Josh Harrellson also signed, but I didn't have anything for them. Knicks' TV color commentator Walt "Clyde" Frazier and rookie guard Iman Shumpert ignored. Those Cleveland Ebay sellers pretty much ruined it for everyone else again, by going through the roped section and rushing to STAT & Melo. Thought about swooping their stuff that they left behind when they went for Amar'e & Melo. Not too bummed with getting both of them last season already, but those Cleveland degenerates do need to stop coming up, otherwise I feel the regulars are probably going to get violent with them soon.

I know exactly who you are talking about with those Cleveland guys. They're known for pushing everyone around here too... How many of them were there?
Here's their ebay if you didn't know...

Yes, it is FT/FS.
Yeah, that's them. There were probably 5 or 6 guys. And I'm already aware of their Ebay account.
