My answer: I think its a hard decision to make but I think I would have to trade Peyton and us this pick to take Luck OR whoever looks the best in the combine. Peyton is getting up there and this year proved how horrible the Colts are without him, they don't need another QB now but they do need about 10 or 20 other players right now. If the Colts do keep Manning I would go in a different direction in the draft and take a defensive player, then try to pick up someone like RG3 who could be a great player with the proper knowledge of the game.

i think it is a no brainer you take luck no matter what have him back up peyton for a year or 2 depending how he plays then make him your franchise quarterback

I have no issue with Luck but at a time the NFL world thought JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf where good enough to be top picks so if Luck fails it then turns to a horrible decision. If Luck doesn't pan out the Colts will be on the bottom of the ladder in the NFL of years. If they Draft 10-15 players the chances of pulling several good players out is much higher. IMO at least, doesn't mean its right

We don't know if Manning can play anymore, nobody does so his trade value wouldn't be much right now imo. The Colts should draft Luck and have the plan (atleast for right now) to let him sit on the bench and learn from Manning for a couple years.

Look at Aaron Rodgers.. sitting and learning for a Hall of Fame quarterback didn't seem to hurt him.

Far too few of players play their whole career with one team. I'm not a Manning fan, I'm not a Colts fan.. I hope they lose 14 games again next year. But for the sake of his legacy it would be nice to see Manning stay in Indy and have a couple more good years.

I say keep Manning and trade the pick if you can get enough for it. Use those draft picks to build up the team and get a decent backup quarterback. The Colts even with Luck doing great would go nowhere since the team is very thin without Peyton Manning. That way you would have a couple of more years of Manning where you can hopefully win another Super Bowl with him.

That would be a good option too. The Colts just look so bad in every phase of the game it seems they need way more than 1 or 2 people to be a contender.

I completely agree with this. They could trade the first pick and stockpile some draft picks , which they desperately need to refurbish the entire team.

The only thing about this post I don't agree with is that the Colts are spread thin without Manning. There pretty thin even with Peyton Manning. They need help in all areas and Manning does make the receivers better but they lack so much its time for them to rebuild

I just don't think thats going to help that much. Even if Luck is really good at the next level they still have a very poor team. When they got Manning they had a poor team and they weren't contenders until guys like Bob Sanders, Reggie Wayne, Edgerin James, Joseph Addai, and Dwight Freeney came along and started playing well.

I think Luck is going to end up like Sam Bradford. Good QB on a poor team, getting his EDIT kicked weekly with no running game and no big time receivers to help him. It took a lot of work for the Colts to get to be the powerhouse they where and it will take that again. Luck isn't going to solve their problems, 4 guys aren't going to solve their problems, its going to take 10-12 better players for the Colts to get better, IMO
