How do you guys/gals think this will affect the Wings.

You have to ask? They will miss him more than they did Yzerman.

The guy prevents 2-3 goals per game against on a consistent basis. He's the only Forward-Goalie in the league.

I wouldn't say he prevents 2-3 goals per game. He does make a huge impact though. They just picked up Kyle Quincey to kind of add another powerful guy up there while datsyuk is out, but can not see him being anywhere near as beneifical as pavy is.

My heart sunk when i saw this, i was watching the game last night and was like "where pavs?" and then i see the graphic explaining his knee surgery -_-.

Now its time to see if Zetty can pick it up just a notch more since he will be on the top line.

I hope these two weeks to come arent going to be miserable for wings fans

Last night we were looking kind of sloppy. A lot of careless passes that resulted in a lot of breakaways. Jimmy played amazing though his first game back. Stopped a lot of tough shots

Power Play was amateur night from the Red Wings. Nobody is capable of getting the puck in like Datsyuk. Hawks justs formed a 3-4 man barrier at the blue line and the Wings struggled.

Zetterberg played the game of his life against the Hawks and he often times looked like a one-man team. I don't think he lost a face-off. Cleary is clearly not 100%, that or he needs to retire, he was beaten to almost every puck.

With Stuart, White, Ericksson and even Kronwall flubbing the puck over, and over last nite, I thought the Hawks should have won with a score of about 10-3.

Both Goalies outstanding, with Howard stopping 3 breakaways and one partial. The Red Wings need to get back to the Penalty Kill days of old, with a square box, and no blown assignments.

You do realize they have this guy who is pretty good by the name of Jimmy Howard? If he chop liver?

Datsyuk averages 160-185 Takeaways per year. There is a reason that he owns the Selke.

The Forward-Goalie was a smart-arse comment, I'm sure you knew what I meant. Regardless.... last night's forecheck other the Zetterberg and Miller was blatantly absent for 2 Periods. Datsyuk gone is part of the reason.

The man owns the ice when he's out there.

In speaking of Howard, he played so well that he stopped the score from easily being 10-1. Datsyuk dressed and they might have picked up a point, perhaps the win.
