Agreed, Kyle Quincy, the career minor leaguer isn't the answer, the only reason they took him for nothing is his familiarity with bus riding between Grand Rapids and Detroit.

They arent going to commit to a huge investment player to fill datsyuk spot for the next two weeks. Quincy wasn't a bad pick up for what they had to give to get him.

Sure they may not win all there games while Datsyuk is gone, but they are still the best team in the League and they didn't get there just by one player. Although Datsyuk makes a big impact, he is not on the ice the whole game.

Quincy was literally free, and if he does play much, it will be fine, as long as he stays out of the penalty box.

With regard to Datsyuk, I've now heard 3 weeks. I have two acquaintances that just had the same thing done, mind you both people over 50, but extremely fit.

It all depends on swelling and movement, Having an arthroscopic looky-loo and a small scrape is still a rude process, the knee is extremely sore and wants to swell.

Naturally the younger you are, the quicker the healing time. Most people Datsyuk's age and his fitness level are back to 100% in 6 weeks. If he does get back within 3 weeks, he won't be winning any footraces. He's not a kid in terms of NHL age, and I hope they get it right, I'd rather see him take more time and be effective than rush things and ruin his season.

On the Datsyuk time return, Two years ago when I was 16 I had the exact same thing done took just over 2 weeks to heal so with Datsyuk being a bit older I'd imagine it being 3-3.5 weeks.
