Interesting note from UD: they are in fact considering bringing back UD Black at some point...but probably in another sport than hockey first.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Lol what a fail black only looks good in hockey.

Wasn't hockey the only sport that Black was really successful in? I know it was a flop in football and basketball worked, but only as the redemptions.

UD Black Letterman are awesome! I also like OPC Premier. Combine some elements from both products into one set.
Fleer Ultra was a really good set to put together with the Gold Medallion parallels.
Bring back Topps. I also like Pacific products but if collectors complain about parallels then why do they want those products back? A lot of different variations of the same card. I'm not too against parallels if they are done right and look good.

You might get one out of it, but more likely you'll end up with a couple inserts and a lot of base.
I stopped buying those fat packs of Ultra since I can't even pull a RC out of them.

Metal Universe (like 1996-97 where each card had a different background)

The original Pacific wasn't quite so crazy with the parallels as Panini has turned them into.
That said, there were a lot of really nice Pacific sets... however many of the ones I've touched come out of the packs far worse than many of the UD products, including Black Diamond which has been notorious for being damaged out of the box.
Flipping through some of the cards I was moving around the other day, I find I'm inclined to agree with the "bring back Topps" opinion. I never dealt with gold label, but I do recall (and recently found) the Refractors from Chrome. Those are fantastic designs, far better than their current closest counterparts in the O-Pee-Chee sets.
Y'hear that UD? Here's an option that lets you produce another set AND make a current one 10x better by removing 1/2 the parallel sets in OPC !

bring back a HOBBY, not the business that its become. Too many people worry too much about what these pieces of cardboard are worth instead of what they are

That's what the novelty of Game-Used merchandise will do. Just make them cards again, not multicolored pieces of fabric.
