I've made mine by customizing 3,500 & 5,000 ct storage boxes, I have a slot for card savers, top loaders, penny sleeves then add a few drops/dabs of glue to hold down an old(But clean..lol) t-shirt..works well ;) Plus I can lay the cards flat, and replace the lid when moving to another sport.

interesting. I have one a 5000 ct super monster box with the tops and bottoms of the clam shell 150 ct holders in the rows. each row has 4 or 5 slots. It seems to work pretty well but just used to the sorter with the slanted cubbies.

I hear you, I have a similar store bought sorter as my main one. I really do like it, but $10 shipping for another.....made me turn "Hobby McGuyver" :)
