I write a personal note on a 3x5 card, include a card for them to sign and ALWAYS send a SASE. I sent out about 300 requests this year. Who did you hear back from?

I'll try that. I usually hand write my LOR in standard paper but find it time consuming. I recently used typewritten LOR but don't know if it will affect my success rate.

for 2012 requests, I got Dirk Nowitzki, Coach Scott Brooks, Robert Parish, and Bruce Bowen.

It's always a long wait since I live in the Philippines. Most of the time, I don't get any returns even for players will high return rates (e.g. Tim Hardaway, Bill Sharman, Dan MAjerle). Got Sharman and Majerle on my 2nd try last year. Still haven't heard from Tim Hardaway. Also tried Penny Hardaway and David Robinson (my favorite player) 3x each. No success. It hurts my wallet since I need to spend 2-3x on US stamps for return postage and I had to buy it online so it's much more expensive (per stamp) and to mention the postage to the US. So I usually send to players that I like and HoFamers only so I don't waste money
