Blister/Retail/Blaster Boxes
Curious as to which brand, product people have had the best success with? Overall they are more affordable then hobby boxes, but obviously for the most part don't yield the "guaranteed hits"... Just looking to pick up a few but wanted the overall thoughts of the members before doing so.

Blasters: UD Series 1/2 are usually kind. Black Diamond and Artifacts are both INCREDIBLY hit or miss. I've done one blaster of Certified and it was alright.
Blister packs are worthless IMO.

Yeah I've had great luck with UD 1 and 2 in the past... Just has been awhile, took some time off from the hobby and just looking to ease back in a little without breaking the bank.... (I don't do Ebay because I find them to be communist) so options get limited when wanting to get back in

I know what you mean. I buy mostly retail because it's what is most available to me. I tend to stick to the S1/2 as I've never had a "bad" blaster and have been able to hit some nice YGs. I also like Score. For a low end set it's a LOT of fun to break even 1 pack, Panini did that one very well.
Black Diamond and Artifacts are very hit or miss. I've had amazing blasters of both, and I've had multiple blasters of both yield nothing but base. If you're a gambler, these are more for you, I think.

UD is the only one I buy blasters of, because the odds of getting a good YG are ok. Everything else offers really poor pack ratios in blaster. BAP offers a good packout in their blasters but 95% of their autos are scrub players.
I do occasionally buy blisters of BD and Ice, but I do it at my LCS who sells them for significantly less than retail.
Overall, I'd pay the little more for hobby. Retail has a lower pricetag, but the return for $ spent is really really poor overall.

I like the Certified Blasters. You get a couple hits for sure and most from what I've seen are pretty decent. Even a few with really nice patches in them....

Good feedback so far...It should be noted I took my sabbatical due to a horrible experience with Panini in which I've been waiting a year for a redemption from their 10-11 Limited hockey product... So until that situation is handled and they make right on their incompetence, I won't be purchasing or patronizing that company anytime soon again... In the meantime I will advise others whenever I can to do the same. FIGHT THE POWER! LOL

Retail gives some crazy hits. Black Diamond blasters gave me a few Gold /10 and pretty much a quad or jersey in each blaster (from what I broken)
Certified can somewhat be a hit or miss since it's 29.99 a blaster. Some times you hit a decent jersey and other times you can hit jerseys /25 and patches /5...all that good stuff : )
Series 1 & 2 I think is the safest bet giving you the best bang for your buck. You should really try the 11-12 Tins, really do reccomend them.

The one 11-12 UD1 tin I did was quite good.

Actually have a case of 10-11 Ud Series 1 tins coming in on Tuesday with a boatload of other items... ;) Keep your eyes peeled for that break... lol typically I do like to stick with upper deck as its a fun (and one of the few brands) in hockey that you can still piece together a complete set without breaking the bank searching for short prints etc
