I've been looking to get a Milwaukee Brewers one, but my pursuit has not turned one up. I've been looking for one uncracked and by a player in the last 5 years...but people ask for way too much.

I have always loved the looks of game used bats. I do believe that cracked bats have more character to them even. The problem is that I never have purchased one as they seem to take a ton of space to display when you can stack baseballs in cubes. The only reason for my post besides saying congrats to those who have a real nice collection and shared with us, is to suggest where to get them. I have been to multiple minor league ballparks who have sold them in their giftshops. They always seemed very reasonable. They are not much more than buying an official baseball. I have been shocked that a few teams sell their old jerseys in the gift shop as well. Those that I have ran across seemed too expensive for my taste.

Yeah i definitely enjoy them. My team sells them for $20 but they rarely have them and ive never bought any. Honestly your best bet is just pay attention during the game and ask the players for them. thats how ive gotten all of mine.

Assuming that the team doesn't sell the broken bats, do you just go down near the dugout after the game and nicely ask the player for the bat? I assume you don't do it in the middle of the game or before the game...

If so, then I might be able to get a few. I have a few people that I know on a few minor league teams that would probably give me one/get me one of another player

I have a Josh Vitters, Mike Trout game used bats. The Trout was when he was in rookie ball and he gave my wife a full bat that wasn't broken just because she asked him
