It's not as bad as Asham's crosscheck, but it at least deserved a game. He even came out and said that he just did it out of frustration.

    Game 1: 7 Goals
    Game 2: 13 Goals
    Game 3: 12 Goals
    Game 4: 13 Goals

    That's a whopping 45 goals over 4 games.

Anyone think that a record might be in jeopardy?
Most Goals Scored by Both Teams in a Playoff Series:
69, Edmonton Oilers (44), Chicago Black Hawks (25) in six games in the 1985 conference final.

If this does get to six games, that's a projected 67-68 goals. Very close.

The most recent saw 7 goals in the first period and 5 by Pittsburgh in the next period.

Do you think either of these might get in trouble?
Most Goals Scored by Both Teams in One Period of a Playoff Game:
    9, New York Rangers 6, Philadelphia Flyers 3, 3rd period, April 24, 1979.
    9, Los Angeles Kings 5, Calgary Flames 4, 2nd period, April 10, 1990.

Most Goals Scored by One Team in One Period of a Playoff Game:
7, Montreal Canadiens, vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, 3rd period, March 30, 1944.

Exciting series to say the least.

    Cheers,

and Zac Rinaldo gets off with nothing for blasting Michalek in the corner...but Asham gets 4 games?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    ™™™ over???

blasting? ha, while I don't think he should've done what he did, he hit a guy with his hands (more of a shove even then a punch - not a crosscheck) and he didn't hit him from behind when he wasn't looking - like asham, crosby, neal, adams...and now Malkin

We'll ignore the stick to the groin he gave to Cooter at the beginning of the game since that got called at least, but another flying elbow to Grossmann that wasn't

Hard to establish any intent on that one for me. I thought Kennedy's hit on Grossman later in the game was worse. Malkin gets in that "must retrieve puck" mode. I don't think he meant to hit Grossman like that, I think he was more trying to get up a head of steam to pick up the puck behind the net. He seemed almost surprised he made contact with anyone.

Doesn't change the fact that Rinaldo at least deserved a game. Dirty play in an already out of control game. That's fine, he'll probably take some ridiculous penalty that'll lead to a Pens goal.

Rinaldo deserves a game for the second part of the action there...he would've been relatively okay until he went back and shoved him to the ground. That to me deserves a suspension...

100% agree. No suspension until the shove.

Nah what Rinaldo did was just payback because the Pens are the dirtiest team in history and protected by the league.

There Flyer fans, I ended the argument for you. LOL!!!!

Dude, I'm a Pens fan too, but it ain't gonna happen. Flyers are too good to be beaten 4x in a row. I truly hope this somehow happens, but don't count on it.
