I am Nervous
Why? I question if I will ever receive my Upper Deck Redemptions. I have never ever complained about redemptions. I've always been patient and just sit back and the brown bubble mailers usually appear in the mailbox, but not lately. In fact it's been 6 months since my last redemption came in. I never complained until I became a member of the "waiting 1 year plus club." Is Upper Deck going out of business? Let's face the facts guys, can they really survive the on-slaught of lawsuits that are pending right now?
As much as it hurts me, ripping wax is a very enjoyable hobby of mine, I've made a decision to stop until all my redemptions are in my hands. I haven't ripped anything since that pack of 05/06 The Cup and will continue not to.
I have a bad feeling that one day out of nowhere Upper Deck will up and fold and no one will get their pending redemptions.Last edited by 13stepper; 04-20-2012 at 08:36 AM.

It depends on which redemptions you're talking about. If you're talking about your 11-12 Artifacts rookies, those will be shipping soon. If you're talking about other stuff, well that is all a matter of when the cards get sent back to them and they've all gone through the QC process for packout.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Really depends on who the card is. There are lots of stories and rumors for the reason that any particular card wasn't made.... so I don't want to even guess if you'll get it or not.
I waited over 3 years for one once, before finally being told that they would not be making the card, and asked me to request a replacement. I was not thrilled with the replacement, but they gave me VERY fair value, at least IMO.
Call them and ask the status? If it's not something that you really wanted for your collection, and more just a function of cashing in what you pulled from you pack.... maybe they'll send you out something really nice instead??

I've been waiting almost 8 months for my 10/11 The Cup Ovechkin/Backstrom Dual Scripted Swatches. I talked to a UD rep about a month and a half ago and while he didn't come out and say it, from the tone of his voice, and him asking if I wanted to request a replacement, I got the indication that I'll be waiting a while(He made it sound as though Backstrom was holding it up). I'm starting to think I should put in for one, but with a high end card like this it's tough...

Well, yeah, but:
UD = Redemptions and some return value on product
ITG = No Redemptions and very little return value on product
Panini = Redemptions and very little return value from product
UD is still tops in my book. Just sayin'

depends on the ITG product. I bought my first enforcers box for 75$, no massive hits, had no PC hits so sold it all and got 110$ back in return.
Bought two different ITG Canada vs the World boxes, both boxes had about 130 - 150$ in return.
Thats much better than UD breaks I have had, im Pro-ITG all the way, especially their mid end sets like those, and high end like ITG Ultimate

ITG you have to break and sell within 2 weeks of it coming out. After that, everyone who wants some, has it and isn't buying anymore.

Pre-Lockout ITG is the best. Their stuff post lockout isn't bad but I'll take their pre-lockout stuff any day of the week over anything UD or Panini can produce.

Upper Deck redemptions seem to be nothing Panini really takes the cake at filling redemptions.
I still haven't got any of my Crown Royal redemptions from last year.
And return value on a box very funny don't get me started.
Pretty much why I started buying ITG.
If you have an issue with ITG good chance you could even talk to Dr Price right through the forum.
For me with Upper Deck it is the quality of the inserts. (have a small pile of dinged bent purely good for nothing cards.) came out of the pack that way.
I dream of the day when I pull a nice gradeable high end card.
Could happen maybe one day the Oilers will make the play-offs again.Last edited by scottyt100; 04-21-2012 at 10:20 AM.
