How many games for Torres?
How many games does everything think the NHL will give Torres for this hit? Will they throw the book at him or let him walk lightly?

He deserves 1-3 but NHL is feeling the heat and will make an example of him by either suspending him the rest of play-offs or 10-15 games.

Considering how many of these types of hits he's thrown around in the past.... I wouldn't be shocked to see the NHL go pretty hard.
He's already missed one, and I think the minimum is going to be another 3 (meaning the rest of the series, for sure) but I wouldn't be shocked to see 10 here - so it's a gaurentee he doesn't play in the second round either.

Based on presedence he should get a game or 2. But in reality they will unjustly give him 10.

Is Raffi Torres' hit worthy of a suspension? I think so, yes.
Is Raffi Torres a star in the NHL? No
Is Marian Hossa a star in the NHL? Yes
Is Marian Hossa injured? Yes
Is Raffi Torres a repeat offender? Yes
Is Raffi Torres likely to do this again, whether suspended or not? Yes
Is the NHL, specifically Shanahan, looking for someone to make an example of after duffing the Weber incident? Yes. At least, they should be.
All of this adds up to a long suspension for Torres. The only thing working in his favour is the "1 playoff game = 2-3 regular season games" theory the NHL works on. I wouldn't be surprised if his suspension was set at a date (ie: banned until July 1) or defined by series length (Banned until end of 2nd/beginning of 3rd round) instead of a hard number of games.
At the same time I wouldn't be surprised if he got 1-2 games. I'm done being surprised by Shanahan. That said, I voted 5-10.

Raffi is definitely a guy that is known for these types of hits and tends to do it with either selfishness and/or recklessness. I remembered watching an Oilers game on TV at the end of a season where he took a boarding major with less than half of the third period left with the Oilers trailing that game, and were officially eliminated from the playoffs after losing that game in regulation.
Considering he left his feet and targeted the head upon impact with Hossa, if Shanny does not give him at bare minimum, 4-5 games, there is something wrong.

People see things differently, i didnt think he targeted the head. Imo, 'targeting the head' is exactly what malkin did to grossman. The torres hit was late plus he jumped but i dont think the principle point of contact was the head. Did he try to put hossa out of the series? Maybe. But a 'head shot'? No in my opinion.

Whether or not he intended to impact Hossa in the head is now irrevelant since I looked at that replay and it connected to ring someone's bell + leaving his feet while making the hit. Ten years ago, Raffi might have been able to get away with that, however those are two things that are considered fouls now. The fact that the refs did not catch it might actually be a liability to Torres as it might give Shannahan a reason to pad a suspension length. Showed at 0:55, 1:55, and 2:13 of the clip.
If it was a blindside hit or from behind, Torres would definitely have more than a few books thrown at him...
For Torres' own safety, he will need to be suspended for a good length. Otherwise, there's a chance someone on the Blackhawks might come after him...
