Awesome win for the Rangers in triple OT! Very tough game though with the exhaustion and physicality. Gaborik finally gets a goal and it is a huge one.

Tough loss, but not undeserving for Caps. Difficult for me cause my only two fav teams and Rangers and Caps, but with a little bit of more favoring for Rangers. Two thoughts from me:
1) Amazing goal by Backstrom, first the clean hit, then he took a hit, skated in possession, and beautifully aimed it right in the little hole he could put it in. Awesome goal. Disappointed NHL.com don't even mention it in their headlines.
2) I was watching this game on the laptop, and I had the WC Sweden-Czech game on the tv, at the same time. While this game fourth playoff game wasn't particularly good at all, the quality difference was breathtaking, I mean, I actually got shocked, I haven't done that before putting two games in front side by side. The speed and back and forth play in the Rangers-Caps game was about 3-4 times the speed of the WC game. It was like comparing juveniles with top notch. Despite that there were quite some stars on that WC ice, Zetterberg, Erik Karlsson, Alfredsson, Loui etc. I know few care about the group play in WC, but still, it's like an insult. They should cancel the whole WC when big stars skate around like a sunday afternoon stroll. Perhaps I'm unfair, afterall the WC final a few years (Russia-Canada) back when Ovie did ballerina steps and Fedorov thought he was young again, that game was among the best I've ever seen, ever. But it's one game. The rest of the World Cup is a joke.

Was at work so I missed most of game 4,my wife taped it for me,but after finding out the Rags lost 3-2 and from the stats alone must've been outplayed badly,at least in the 1st period where they were outshout 14-3.I might watch the tape sometime today, well now we have a best of 3 series, should be a good finish to this one.

Eddie Olczyk does not always prognosticate, but took a page from the Barry Melrose "Book of Stupid" yesterday before this game, and stated to Doc Emrick:
"Which ever team wins today, will win this series" So now Olczyk would apply that the Caps will win, which could easily happen.
It's not much of a stretch to pick either team after 4 games shared at 2 apiece,, so I will cut Edzo some slack.

If the Rangers won yes I could see that prediction holding up being a 3 to 1 series lead, but a 2-2 series with the Rangers still having 2 of the 3 games at home could go either way.I'm not ready to hand the series over to the Capitals based on a game 4 home ice victory.

Washington Captials
Since living in DC the last 6 years, I've noticed that watching the CAPS play hockey is like watching my Fighting Irish play football...nauseating. I swear I have an ulcer from this team. I dont know his first name, but this guy on the CAPS named Ward can go to you know where. What the heck are you doing high sticking on purpose with SECONDS left in regulation!!!???
And now the game is over...thanks so much Mr. Ward.

They had that game won. What in the world was Joel Ward thinking. He raked the face of Hagelin coming thru the face-off circle.
He lost his team a chance at eliminating the Rags. No way will they beat New York now. Hunter should make him ride pine for that.

Bad call by Hunter putting him out for the last shift. It seemed that the Caps were chasing all night. Gave the Rangers life with the tying goal.

He was the star last series when he won it for the Caps. Bad timing penalty.
