14 and 3 are retired in honor of Don Hutson and Tony Canadeo, unfortunately...and the #1 is not retired for whatever reason, but only ever credited to Curly Lambeau.

Ouch...guess I'm glad the Raiders don't retire numbers...that's what happens when you're the team of the decades!

One of my goals, although one i haven't sent out for in a while, is to collect the autographs of every living New York Giants and New York Yankee. When I tell some of the former Giants what I am doing I get some interesting responses and extras. Some of those guys are really great and have taken the time to write back. The problem is you some times hit a wall when collecting one sport or one or two teams. It get difficult and motivation wanes, especially if one of the teams has some tough gets.

    Interesting topic.
I've been working on the 90-91 UD hockey set since it was released, but in the last year or so I've "hit a wall" in terms of getting ttm responses. Most of the guys I need don't sign ttm, won't accept fan mail or just sign at shows. I am at the point now where 1 success a month is a signifigant step (actually got 2 done in April )
In the meantime, I haven't really started any other projects, I am sending out to a lot of random players (both active and retired) and just trying my luck.
Good Luck on your signing projects guys, it's fun to do but always a slow process.

i have hundreds out, most recently I sent 40 to spring training, and yet I only get one success a month if I'm lucky. I got 4/40 back from spring training this year, by far my worst number ever, and I didn't even send to any "reach" star players.

Yeah that's one of the reasons I've been turned away.. I got the new Harvey's and sent out 60+ in February. I've gotten 2 back... Almost we're all HOfers and big names but i thought I'd see more than 1...

I am at the point where I only do well when doing a project. I have done events like ST, mailings for a particular sport like last year I did a big racing one or just chasing my Olympic collection. I agree that you do have points where interest drops away. I am sure that after the Olympics I will be revitalized on that front. Not always with the new folks either, but running down former stars.
