I think there was a possibility of him getting traded but Dean wouldn't trade away his captain unless he got a big return - my guess why he never got traded - no offer gave enough in return. Johnson was tradeable only because Voynov was ready to take his spot. There wasn't anyone capable to do what Brown does so he didn't end up on another team

Exactly, without Lundqvist, Rangers gone. Without Quick, LA would still be there, they haven't played superclose games and long series, they have won very clearly. But Lundqvist has carried his team. If Rangers go to the final, and even if they lose, the Conn should be his. But he's not North American so it won't be.

After the performances by the Goaltenders yesterday, they have both raised their hands higher at this point than anyone else.
Lundqvist getting the nod over Brown at this point. The Rags have had a much harder time than the Kings, and the Kings are getting tertiary and secondary scoring by their 3rd and 4th lines, that no other team has experienced this year.
If the Rangers win this whole thing, you just might see Lundqvist win the Superfecta.
Hart -League MVP
Vezina - Gardien de But
Conn Smythe - Playoff MVP
Stanley Cup
That will be one for the record books.

Yup! I totally agree with that. I think it's going to be quick, or Lundy.

Did you see the Vancouver series? That is about as inaccurate a statement as I have seen.
Quick was the difference in that series and definitely 2 games of the St. Louis series.
He hasn't been tested as much this round but has still been solid.
I am going to throw Anze Kopitar in as a not-so-dark darkhorse candidate.
If he has a big game tonight to put the team in the Cup Finals and then dominates there to help the Kings win their first Cup, he could very well walk away with the award.

Yeah Quick absolutely robbed Vancouver but the Canucks shot themselves in the foot with the shorthanded goals against and some bad turn overs. The Canucks, however, just couldn't score on Quick and that was the series. If almost any other goalie was in the Kings net that series would have been 7 games.

Ture. But if any other goalie had been in Rangers net they had been long gone.
