Flopping- serious issue or not?
Curious to what you guys think. I think it is a huge problem and people should be fined/suspended.
One of the biggest floppers:

I thought it was a Ginobili video lol. He's my guy but old habits die hard. I think the real problem is the refs who fall for it.

It's a serious issue, but there's really not much the league can do about it.

Its been a massive issue in football for a while but the UEFA took control of it and people get shown yellow cards for it now. In some cases they can get a straight red (which means a 3 game suspension). It got stamped out a little, especially in the Premier League. But still happens a lot in Seriea A.
If the NBA want to stomp it out they could. Fines or personal fouls to start with and then game suspensions. It would soon stop.

Yeah but much like all the other rules, it won't apply when your stars are doing it...so why bother?

Thats the thing, IF the NBA wanted to stop it. They clearly don't care.
They've already wrapped Blake in bubble wrap allowing to foul on his dunks so why would they stop him flopping? The King is allowed to do it too because they want him to get a ring to keep up the debates. But if you flop properly you can make a career out of it, ask Varejao.

Flopping has always been an issue. I remember Anderson Varejao use to be a HUGE flopper, I don't think he's nearly as bad as he was years ago, but it was pretty ridiculous.
It's really pretty easy to tell a flop from a charge, but I prefer if refs just never called it. If they don't call it, players won't do it.

I had to vote yes on this because it has become sick to watch some of these players act like a breath is a freight train when it isn't!! I would love to see a flop video from the league for all the flop calls to see how many were blatant flops and how many were called correctly so Stern can go to the rules committee and have them address it for next year. There should be some awards handed out from the League for some of them without question.
