    Question on a LCS

I just found a LCS thats an hour away (hockey card collecting is a real popular hobby in socal) and they actually have hockey product to sell thats new stuff. but they dont sell singles. If they dont sell singles do you think they pack search? or is it one of those things where i just gotta go down and buy a few packs to find out?

After hearing the last thread about a lcs guy who pack searched im kinda scared. but there are plenty of times i got 50 bucks to spend on cards, just not 100 or 120 on a box.

any help or experiances would be great.

The only way I'm comfortable buying packs in an LCS is if I trust the guys behind the counter, and you can't get there without going down and at least talking to them. If they do a good business on hockey packs/boxes, its likely because they do not pack search... If they've got boxes which have been open for months with the same 4-5 packs, there's probably a problem.

Without knowing anything about them, an LCS is always worth a shot! And talking to them about finding you singles might be worthwhile, too. If they don't carry them, they may have a network already set up to locate stuff. Remember, the motivation of a sale can really get some of them moving!

thanx fred, good advice. Im in the mindset where everyone in this hobby is out to get you. traders want you to always be on the low end of the trade, lcs's jack prices up and pack search. seems more safer to buy unopened boxes from dave and adams. but your right, i should try it out at least.

The store I go to, I have ZERO problem buying lose packs from them. The best hits I've got over the years have been in lose packs from them, not boxes.

Same for me. If I tell the guys working there "I'll have the 3rd one from the bottom" or something like that (one of the guys there always asks "which one" when you ask for box even) they'll do it..... but there is no pack searching going on. (Or they're really bad at it).
