That situation happens very rarely, I have not seen very many times where someone stops signing because they signed multiples for another person. Either a person is going to sign multiples or they are only going to sign 1 or 2. If a player is willing to sign multiples what is the problem? If they dont want to sign multiples then they dont. Perfect example, earlier this season I had 10 cards of Tyler Moore, He came over and said "hey whats up, I will sign a couple of these for ya" he signed 4 of them and life went on, he went to the next person and signed 3 for them so I dont see what the big deal is, but I think this topic is one that each person will have their own opinion on.

I understand it's rare, but it happened and that's why I don't like it. But I agree, This is gonna bring nothing but trouble, so I'm getting out before it's too late. Lol

I thi k the most I have ever got signed at one time was 9 by Charlie hough a few yrs back when he was the pitching coach, but only tried that many because I've heard people getting twice as many done by him at games, other than that I got javy guerra to sign 4 cards in the minors, the most from a current major leaguer at one time was 4 cards and 2 figs(mcfarlanes and a playmakers) By andre ethier in the early part of the 2011 season before he entered the San Diego stadium

I remember last year I went to see the Atlanta Dream play the Seattle Storm. I was in the mall that is connected to Phillips areana and wouldn't you know a couple of the Storm players including future HOFer Katie Smith came out to grab something to eat. Since most people don't follow the wnba no one paid them any attention. I didn't want to go up to them while they were about to eat and be embarrassed if they would have told me off so I didn't say anything until a little kid asked to take a picture with Katie Smith. As soon as I did that I made my move. I got her to sign a card for me and she did. Once I went in the game I stood in the autograph section and put 2 cards down for her to sign. I didn't ask her to sign both but she was sweet enough to do so. Of the players who sign I have noticed if you put mutiple cards down the will either sign them all or only sign one. I'm not going to complain either way because the ballplayer was under no obligation to sign at all.

Time and place for dropping a stack. If its wrong, they find out real quick. Same policy applies with the pic with. Pretty much both fall under the same rule: if other graphers are waiting, don't be "that grapher" and go for stupid whole page or fumble around with camera.

people may do it to fulfill 50/50s or to have extras to trade

A little late to the party, but this. Some people have sent me cards, so I do my best to get some extras signed. My personal limit is three, unless I know the player likes to sign and do multiples (like Ezequiel Carrera). But never more than three, and I don't know anyone that's had a problem with that.

I would never ask for more than 2 sigs at a time. Any more than that, whether they are for trades or whatever, just seems selfish... unless you're at the end of the line and the guy doesn't mind signing 8 cards. I'd be pretty mad if someone in front of me got a whole page and I got nothing due to the player having to leave.

IMO its a players choice whether they sign 1 card or sign 8 cards or even more. usually the younger players in low-a and the low minors sign more in my experience but if I have 8 cards of a player and hes willing to sign all of them, why not get them signed?

This is another good point. It's not like by signing autographs, the player has to sign everything you put in front of him. Some guys are one per, others are two per, and some will sign anything in front of them. I usually say, "You cards are (top/bottom/left/right) and there are (one/two/three) please feel free to sign as many as you'd like."

I only see an issue if you have more than what you actually need for yourself AND it's preventing others from not getting one at all. Otherwise, who cares.. it's up to the player though I'd feel like a tool asking for more than a couple.

To me, the difference is if it is an established player or a retired player versus a guy in single-A. If a guy has over 100 different cards out there, and the signatures are on all different cards, great. I don't understand the single-A or rookie ball player who someone brings a page of Bowman Draft Picks and Prospects cards to them for signatures. If you are signing 9 of the same card, that's a red flag, since first of all, you can't say the guy is your favorite player that you have been following for years, as that is highly unlikely, and 2nd, whenever you are getting the same card or photo signed, that is a tell that you are hoping to sell some day if the person gets famous, or whatnot. Signing different cards, that implies (IMO) that the person is a collector or a fan, more than a seller. As always, just my opinion...
