Those are the same three teams I keep reading as the front runners too, and for the same reasons.... but add the fact that he and Gardiner are buddies to the Leafs pile of reasons.

I would suspect if a big USA markey like NYR or LAK came calling, that would put them right at the top of the list too..... same with Detroit, as they have a great track record for winning.

Not surprised about the comment on NHLers not wanting to play for Edmonton. They've got the worst weather of any NHL city (well, them and Winnipeg) but even worse, they're a losing team, and have been for most of the last 20 years. If their current core of players can turn the team into a winner, and real Cup contender - I have no doubt that they'll have a much easier time attracting FAs.

The reasoning I was told is the lousy weather mixed with being in a fishbowl just like Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, etc.

Word is Detroit dropped out of the running. As per Justin's wants of ice-time, playing near home and/or playing with former Wisconsin teammates, shortlist reported to be:
    Vancouver Canucks
    Toronto Maple Leafs
    New York Rangers
    Edmonton Oilers

Apparently he's indicated he would rather play in Canada, but New York has a couple of those former teammates, as does Toronto. Edmonton probably offers him the most ice-time, but Vancouver is closer to home than that and he'll get playing time (he'd be top 4 behind Bieksa, Hamhuis and Edler) but he won't be in a position where he absolutely HAS to be good, as he would be in Edmonton.

I really hope he goes to Van.

Yeah, I forgot them. I think it's going to come down to Edm/Van/Tor, though.

I don't understand why Ottawa is on the list? My guess is it will be the Oilers. Surprised it isn't Vancouver but then again they wouldn't guarantee him playing time. Really wanted the Leafs to get him but looks like that won't be happening.

I only heard about this guy on the tsn sports radio this morning, they said he refused calls from Neidermeyer...and the commentators were saying, "who does this guy think he is, Lebron?" Guess a good bet that soured the Ducks...could be worse teams to play for!?! with Teemu, great playre/person, Perry/Getzlaf...sunny California...

oh well, maybe he wants to play in Canada...just seems to show poor character not to return a call, if only to say Thank you, but no thanks...

It is the best opportunity for him to receive significant playing time and the Oilers are scary young and talented! 2 more high priced rookie cards to chase with Yakupov and Schultz. Add in Hall, Eberle, and RNH. Expensive on the pocketbook.
