Those are all bad examples. Nash's situation was different as PHX had the ability to get something in return instead of getting nothing.
Joe Johnson's contract was signed before the new CBA even happened...? He was just traded
Gordon/Lopez are both bad examples, as they were Restriced FA and had to match or make a large offer to keep their players.

I always knew that the owners were full of it. You are running a mult-million dollar cash cow which is only one of several businessed that you own, you cry broke and expect the average working man whose main concern is eating on a day to day basis and keeping a roof over his head to feel sorry for you because you are only bringing 400 million instead of 500 million then spend freely on ball players like most of us on here wish that we could on cards. The owners always had ZERO credibility in my book.Drug and smoke free trading.

Great deal for the Mavs. Were the Pacers just tired of Collsion and trust George Hill that much?

CHARLOTTE BOBCATS SIGN RAMON SESSIONS FOR A TWO YEAR DEAL – NBA NEWS
http://blogs.bettor.com/Charlotte-Bo...A-News-a170820
Kinda surprised here, what is Sessions thinking? Guess he will be the nightly starter but when U are winning 20 games a season who cares about starting?

I don't even know if he will start. They've been grooming Kemba Walker. Sessions might start the season starting but I think Walker will be the starter by Easter

idk. I wouldn't expect anyone to take a loss just because they own more than 1 business. Reporting losses is not what made them rich. If you had 100 kids and one was bleeding, the 1 would have your attention. You'd try to stop the bleeding. Admittedly I haven't followed the book per-se, but I gather from the lockout reporting that things for certain teams just wasn't adding up. Secondly, they are going to fleece you (the fan) anyways. You are paying for Gordon's, JJ's and Nash's deal. Check out the ticket, concession and parking prices the next time you go to a game. So it's hard for me to love either sides because both are living good while taking your money. But above all, these max deals and overspending is almost necessary if they want to fill the seats (which is how they make the profit). You want to lose a player who is the center of your marketing, on every billboard and building, who drives memorabilia sales, who puts the people in the seats? Or you can bite the bullet and match an offer from a team who needs that type of player to up their profits.

I don't think Gordon/Lopez are bad examples. Those are great examples, both are not worth the money they're going to be getting. You can add Asik 8 M a year to that list. S. Novak 4 M a year, Camby 4+M a year, and Batum 12 m a year. These are all terrible contracts
