may be better and look better but its a complete rip off of Titanium, UD is getting desperate. The jersey number rookies is a Titanium thing and should stay that way

There's one less pack a box now right? By lower price point do they just mean it will still average the same price per pack?

Probably will be around the $120 range IMO. $25 a pack product or so
Yup... Exactly what I thought. SPGU is not a rookie product by any means. No one buys it specifically for a rookie, mainly because it's GAME USED... not SPEU (Event Used). While it will bring the value up, UD would've NEVER done this if it wasn't for Panini rehashing Titanium.
Looking over it again I'd much rather have them done a few things with SPGU:
-Increase the overall quality by decreasing the overall quantity of boxes
-Focus on nice patches as a priority especially for the lower numbered cards
I still like that it has unique elements like the Stanley Cup Winning Netting, the jumbo pads, sticks, etc. That's cool and unique for an NHL licensed product. They need to keep that quality up. As far as shields go, I'd honestly much rather have a manufacturer's mark type of shield instead of the NHL shield instead. Why? It's a product that's supposed to be different. SPGU has alway been that one product that pushes the envelope from UD. It's the one thing they do a lot of experimenting with and it has a lot of uniqueness. They need to keep it that way. If products become too similar, it will drive the resale down on both. Just my thoughts.
