I want some thoughts about the mentality of voting for the "Lesser of two evils".

In about 2 hours I will be voting for Obama, not because I think he's the best candidate, but because I think Romney is a TERRIBLE, absolutely insufferable candidate.

So in actuality, I'm not necessarily voting for Obama, I'm voting AGAINST Romney.

I have spoken to some of my friends yesterday that tell me that that is precisely the reason why we will never get rid of the two party system.

However, my logic tells me the following:

If I vote for Jill Stein (Who I believe IS the best presidential candidate) I am taking a vote away from Obama who actually has a chance to win in order to vote for someone who has ZERO chance to win.

Therefore, my vote, inadvertently HELPS Romney, which I consider the ABSOLUTE WORST candidate.

So, can anyone help me in this dilemma?

Great post Alex. I think we are somewhere within the same ballpark. (We, meaning you and I)

Great point Alex. I like President Obama and all but some decent competition from Gary Johnson and Jill Stien would only benefit the people. However our only choice is either Obama or that piece of garbage romney. I will never under any circumstance do anything that will help twitt romney get elected.

Already voted this morning. I always have a laugh with the volunteers, because they always say I'm the first one under 30 to vote in the mornings (I'm habitually an early voter, usually just after my precinct opens).

I think there's a LOT of people like us.....I was conflicted, but in the end, I let my logic do the thinking, I voted for Obama.

Just came back from voting and surprisingly there was a good amount of young people where I was....
