Absolutely! I just thought it odd that the buyer joined ebay today. My wife didn't think it was odd at all, but she's an optimist and me......not so much.

There have been instances where eBay has not recognized CanadaPost as an "approved" carrier when things go awry and even a tracking number doesn't help the seller's case. For that kind of money I'd be using Fedex or Purolator or what-have-you :)

With the World Cup going on there's inevitably going to be lots of new folks looking for cards of the world's biggest soccer stars. If you're sending a $1000+ card overseas I would hope that you're using tracking & insurance regardless of whether it's a guy with 0 or 1,000 feedback.

I didn't know that. I'm glad I read this post regularly. So eBay does recognize FedEx/Purolator in Canada if there is a problem shipping an overseas item?
Do you know the cost (just approximate, within $5) to use FedEx or Purolator on say a $500 card overseas? Just a regular card, in a bubble mailer, weight 28 grams.

i know shipping has been talked about a lot but this one had me planting my face into my palms....

I paid 4 dollars US to have a redemption card shipped to me within Canada.

here is how it was shipped.

taped to a piece of card board in a paper envelope..... call me crazy but I don't think that all adds up to 4 dollars

Funny thing is that the guy cut out the sp authentic logo from the hobby box and taped to the other side of the card board...... maybe he charged me for the creativity.....
