It doesn't matter what you say in your auction body. Sellers can't just make things up to suit them after the listing ends. You have to set the shipping price default, and shipping method before you list your item. You can put $3.00 to Canada, and $4.00 to USA regular standard mail in your default settings, but if you don't have the tracked insured price set in there, ebay will not side with you if you try to charge for Xpresspost after it ends. If you know the item is gonna be ending high, and you want to send it by Xpresspost with tracking, and insurance, you have to have that price set in your default, so when the auction ends, the $15.99 price is there automatic, instead of the regular mail price of $3. 00, this way buyer knows exactly what shipping is before they bid.
What you say in your auction body really doesn't matter to ebay. I use a certain template for listing low end cards, and a different one with a higher shipping cost listed, and what shipping method is being used for that auction on high end stuff (Xpresspost, or registered mail for example). Just like sellers who demand payment within 24 hours in their auction. You can state that all you want, but technically by the ebay terms of service, they have 4 days to pay before you can do anything about it.Last edited by Leafsfan1967; 12-23-2013 at 12:42 AM.

Ebay seller using two different names and accounts
Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill, or should this be a concern. I saw two identical serial number cards listed as BIN on eBay for radically different prices. I emailed both and asked them if they had the card in hand. I mentioned, to both, that another seller listed the same card (sometimes people "borrow" photos) and wanted to be certain he had the card because I was interested in buying it.
I got one email response saying that both accounts / user names are the same person. The seller said he was offended that I would accuse him of running a scam (which I didn't do!) and acted as though I had publicly dishonored him. One account had several neutral / negative feedbacks while the other only had one negative.
Maybe I'm overly cautious, but would anyone else be concerned with a seller using two accounts / names to list identical items?Hidden Content

There's a lot of negativity in this thread about eBay (albeit well-deserved), but I figure it would be the time of the year to point out some positives.
I like how they've recently changed the option to have scheduled listings as a free add-on now. I'm not sure exactly when it started (within the last few months) but for a mid-level seller like myself the ability (that doesn't use a program for listing) the ability to post auctions up at any time of the day and scheduling them for their start time has been a tremendous help with my consistency of listings. A lot of times before if I forgot to list during a certain time (to have them end at a certain time), I'd just put it off til the next week to list it for the Sunday night slot. But now I'm keeping up with my regular listings and keeping up with getting the free listings all the time, so that's great.

Here's a bit of a unique one - the tables are turning? LOL

For all the complaining we see about Quebec's postal service and the issues there, it's a bit odd to see someone in QC saying he doesn't ship to Ontario.

In the end, it all worked out - but I have to say, the process of dealing with eBay Customer Service is BRUTAL.
There is a 'report buyer' function (called something like that). I did this, and add an explaination of what the problem is. Didn't pay, left negative feedback for no reason other than he bought the same card from someone else. His feedback says as much.
The only followup I got to my report was a survey! That's right, they sent me a survey to see how well I thought my problem had been dealt with. Considering eBay did NOTHING, I gave them the lowest scores possible.
Anyway, somewhere in there.... I also submited a request to have the transaction canceled, and for the buyer to revise his feedback. He agreed to cancel the transaction - but he did not resolve the feedback issue.
So, I begin to look through the site to find somewhere that I can email customer service with my problem. Not "report" a problem, but send an email that a human will actually read. Imagine my surprise when I can't find something like that anywhere! All there is, is the option to have eBay call you. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE. I'm going to be honest - I don't like the phone. I do not call my friends or family, nor do they call me (normally). Text Messages / emails are the way to go..... unless it's something urgent. Talking to someone face-to-face is the best way to do it... but the phone, urgh. I certainly don't like calling companies, or having them call me. In the year 2013 - that a company based on the internet does not allow you to email them, BRUTAL.
They called me very quickly (didn't wait more than 30 seconds after placing the request) talked to one guy, he said they'd remove it... and he'd transfer me over to someone that could. Was on hold for about 2 mins. Get on with a second person, explained the situation to them. Was asked if I tried contacting the (non) buyer. I said I had submited a request for the transaction to be cancelled, and included a note for the feedback to be removed. The other member did cancel the transaction, but did not revise feedback. She then suggested that I CALL HIM!?!?!?! I immediatly told her I would not. There was no chance of me placing that phone call. She asked me to go on hold so she could see if there was something else that could be done.....
Well, she did come back on, and agreed to remove the feedback (it is gone now) but what a fiasco. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with them, and it's nothing that a 90 second email couldn't have accomplished. I realize that the email means it might not be done that day, but I don't care about that.

A Quebec seller not shipping to Ontario. Lol.
Black Pot, Black Kettle, black everything. I have not had one Ontario problem in 14 years on eBay. I have had over 20 Quebec problems in the same time frame.
In fact, the only Canadian problems I have ever had shipping back home have been in Quebec, and nowhere else. Russia would be as high if I shipped there, but I stopped dealing with Russians in 2006.
Other interesting facts? The only negatives I have ever received on eBay, (just got my 1st one in 4 years), have all been from women. Lol. As a member on SCF which will remain nameless so eloquently said, women that deal in cards, cannot be trusted. He's not wrong.

20 minutes?!?! You got off easy, my friend. There have been numerous occasions where I've been on the phone for an hour or more to get problems resolved that should have been slam-dunk quick chats. I have filed numerous "report this buyer" messages about people and my experience is the same as yours: nothing happens.

I just scheduled listings for tonight and was charged 10 cents per item. I thought it was free now? Does it come off after or do I need to call ebay to complain?
