Can someone please help me understand??
So I'm searching Ebay, compiling my massive want list, and keep coming across this issue where either I am completely dense (which my wife might argue is fact, lol) or these are all fraudulent listings...
Example #1: Item listed as a 1/1, yet clear as day on top left shows there were 25 made
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-13-Totall...item417142a18f
Example #2: Once again listed as a 1/1, yet top right shows there are 99 printed
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCOTTIE-PIPP...item19da84c8f4
There are many many more examples of this, but I think I got my point across, how can they get away with listing these cards as 1/1s?

There is a supposed thing called EBAY 1/1. Such as jersey number cards are EBAY 1/1s. It is a method to try to get more money out of a card. Some people like to have jersey number cards and pay a premium, or last card made etc.

Some people class the first numbered (eg. 1/##), last numbered (eg. 99/99) and jersey numbered cards as 1/1's to, as said above, gain more $$. They are not true 1/1's.

Because nobody reports them to eBay and when they do eBay doesn't care. You can get away with murder on eBay if you make them cash.Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

People will also call their card an "Ebay 1/1" if the card they are selling is the only one on Ebay at the time. Obviously not the only one made but the only one being listed.

So stupid... This kinda thing really bothers me, the only thing that I think is a little bit cool would be a card jersey number/ but the first and last made mean absolutley nothing to me...

That seems so dumb to me. And unbelievably deceptive. I know i'm fairly new back into the hobby, but crap like this really pisses me off. It makes me question how I can trust a seller like that. It's sad that these are the tactics some sellers resort to.

Yup it is.
You will also see auctions with the title NO AUTO or NO AUTOGRAPH so when people search auto or autograph the auction will pop up. That gets annoying real fast.

My 2 cents. Actually, all numbered cards are 1/1 cards in case Panini ( or Fleer, UD, Topps...) does not have dupes of the cards in stock they sell in the packs. There is only 1 card numbered 01/xxx and only one card numbered 02/xxx and so on. I don´t regard them as 1/1s but they are.
