I busted 3 packs and 1 box on release day, I went back down the next day and was sold out, never got any more hobby. then the price on a box tripled.

For my box and 3 pack investment

Guy Lafleur/Stephane Richer dual auto /50 sold for $170
Habs inks Plekanec/Higgins sold both for $35
Henri Richard nicknames auto /25 sold for $200

When hobby sold out, I started to go to the habs center in Brossard as they never raised the price of the retail version they were selling there and did spend around $5000 on boxes. I ended up with 24 complete set 1-200, 3 complete SP set 201-300 and a box of 5000 for the base left and probably around 800 sp that I still have in double. I am missing the beliveau jersey got 42 autos, traded the doubles auto. and had a few dual auto and some other. But I never spent that much on one release. Thank to the habs shop in Brossard I was still getting them under $80.00. I know LCS started to sell these at very high prices but both the bell center shop and the one in Brassard never raised the prices

Thank you for posting the SP list.
I checked my Habs Inks and noticed that I have HABSJB Jean Beliveau SP!

I bought two boxes when this came out.
Was pretty pleased with my hits.
I completed the base set #1-300 really early before Beckett came out and the prices went up by buying the extra inserts at my LCS.
I paid $125 per box and another $120 to get the 52 inserts (missing cards from 201-300).
So in total I paid $370 for a complete base set, 4 Habs Inks, 1 Game used (Koivu), 1 HOF auto (Gainey), and 2 #/100 cards.

By the sounds of it...think I did quite well considering how much money I spent.

I would assume they would as all that would needed was to change the font colour and put a number on.
You probably never seen an odelein as someone probably figured wasn't worth the Ebay fees to list the card. LOL

Henry Richard from that set regularly sells for over 50$. I pulled one at release and kept it.

I'm wondering for how much my triple Damphouse/Leclair/Muller and my dual Lafleur/Richer would sell.

At 120$/box, it was the nicest product ever to break at release :D

I bought a box when these first came out, and pulled a dual auto of Bouillion and Hammrlik /50. Didn't think it was all that great.

Guess what? I sold that card on eBay for about $30 more than I paid for the pair of boxes ($240).

    That set was crazy.

I bought one hobby box at the time and got a Carbonneau / Gainey / Someone Else triple auto. After figuring there was no way I'd ever be able to complete the rest of them I put it up for a $399 BIN or best offer. My first offer was a dollar hahahaaaa. Then three days later it went for the BIN. I was shocked.

Then I bought a retail tin at the Wal-Mart. Got the usual nothing, but the tin is still on my shelf, Jean Beliveau smiling back at me :)
