Funny story about Mike Shannon this ST. I was waiting for Curt Schilling to walk out of the Cardinals complex when Mike came out looking for someone. I recognized him but having nothing but an IC for him I asked him for a sig. He took it, looked at me and asked me, "Are you one of those Dealers that's going to sell this on eBay tonight?" I laughed and said, "Mike, if I was a Dealer I would have a stack of your BB cards and ask you to sign 3-5; not a plain blank IC!" He smiled and graciously signed it.

On vacation this week and hitting up the Rays-Red Sox game on Wednesday. Wade Boggs is doing a signing at the game. I have his autograph already but am bringing my copy of Facing Ted Williams, of which he wrote the forward to. It was easier than bringing a photo IMO.

Spotty wifi at the hotel and now at the airport on the way home to hopefully a but load of autographs. I was able to meet Wade Boggs before the game and got him to sign a copy of Facing Ted Williams. He wrote the forward. I also had a photo taken, which I will get made into an 8x10 and pay $5 to have him sign.
I also met Dick Vitale. My brother messaged me that he was at the game. Before leaving, I asked an usher if I could go down there and get a photo taken with him. I was directed towards the front row and got a photo taken in the mid-8th inning. He takes the Stan Musial approach of having pre-signed cards with him.

Bill Cowher came back. Somehow, rather than being available at the post office when I was over there to pick up the mail after coming back from vacation, it was in Friday's mailbox signed and inscribed with the Super Bowl inscription.

John Stockton arrived yesterday although it was delivered to the wrong address. Whoever dropped it off in the mailbox didn't read the fine print that said DO NOT BEND on the envelope. Would have preferred that he not sign over the career highlights. Oh, well. Still a great success.

Joseph Ellis, the Pullitzer winning author, was speaking at the library tonight. I had him sign American Spinx and Founding Brothers. Sending out a few 8x10s tomorrow morning.

I'm sure they forward to him all the time and he probably signs in spurts. Keep in mind that he only signs 8x10s as far as fan mail goes. Everyone else gets a signed 5x7 printout.

I got the 5x7 print out signed photo a few years back when i tried cards. I figured that was his norm for replying to request. I sent 2 8x10's, Just hope to get 1 back.
