I used to have so much baby powder in my room it looked like I was a coke addict. worked so well though. I can easily tell which ones I got signed before i started to use that.

Great article, Dan. Have you ever damaged a card when trying to erase the gloss, though? Seems a bit risky for me who's never tried that before, haha.

Depending on the set (chrome cards are the main set), it may streak a little, but if you use a quality eraser, it shouldn't happen often.

Another option is to use a staedtler medium point marker. I use it without rubbing down and they turn out fine. Some examples are in my IP thread.

Once I started putting a small amount of baby powder on the card before sending it out, they looked like this
