If they knew they were also going to move Setoguchi like they just did for a player that as yet does not exist, and then turn around and pay Matt Cooke what they paid him, then yes they could have afforded him.
Instead, they are getting Nino, the laziest player to come out of Junior Hockey since Mikael Samuelsson came over from Sweden and had a sex change.

Salary wise Cooke and Setogushi are a wash. With the contract that were given out yesterday Clutterbuck is likely to get $3 -$4 mil a yr. Wild only have about $3.5 mil in space.
