Bryan Bickell To Stay In Chicago.

Bryan Bickell will not hit the open market this summer as he has signed a new 4 year contract, worth a reported $16 million. Bickell's huge post season was going to make him one of the more coveted free agents this summer. Some speculated that Bryan could command 4.5 to 5 million on the market. If that is the case, the Blackhawks got a bit of a discount. There was no doubt Bickell wanted to remain in Chicago and possibly gave up a few extra million to stay here. Pierre Leburn gave the breakdown of the deal via his Twitter feed.

If he keeps playing like he did in the playoffs he will def be worth it! Otherwise going to be paying a ton for a third line guy who is hit or miss.

He has played on top 2 lines before and did not produce. Has never played to his size neither. If he can play most of the season like he did in the SCF he will be worth his big pay raise. If he plays like he has in the past he might be traded at the deadline.

He creates open ice for the skaters on his line. That open ice then conveniently leaves him open in front of the net, where he is almost impossible to move.

He could, he really could have a Phil Esposito kind of career if he lets it all hang out on every shift. He's twice as tough as Espo and twice as mean.

The regular season and play-offs are a completely different animal, Lucic was almost half asleep for most of the regular season but who cares, he is money in play-off type atmosphere, and so was Bickell, when placed with Kane and Toew's the 2 grew 5 inches taller and started to produce, made all the difference in winning the Cup. He doesn't need to put up big number's to be Valuable. Regular season production seems overrated, than again I think the Selke finalist's are the best players in the game not the Hart candidates.
