Until the next CBA I believe.

Better question, who gave Grabo the stupid contract; Burke or Nonis?

Who would you rather have, Bozak or Weiss for $5-million+/yr for 6-8 years or Stastny for 1-year and $6-million plus.

If they wish to keep Kessel around longterm (which I don't think they will do), I would take a shot at Stastny. This guy has been buried for a few years but I think that he has allot left.

In other "rumours de-jur", Philly getting close to Bobby Ryan and if he becomes a Flyer, Hartnell may be the next to go. Apparently, once all the FA defence man have signed and a dozen teams realize they're screwed, Meszaros will also be dealt - maybe to Carolina or even Detroit.

Bozak is a lot younger than Weiss at this time, however Weiss has toiled with Never-were players in Florida his whole career. Who knows what he is capable on a team that may consistently make the playoffs.

Stastny in my mind was always overrated. Let's look at 2 off-spring. Stastny and Steen, one of these was expected to be a Journeyman his whole career, and has turned into one of the best players in the Western Conference, and his Dad is not from Slovakia.

To me, Bozak is a #2/#3 center on a good team at best. I think he's already reached his full potential. Feester in Calgary will over-pay him by allot.

Stastny can be a #1 center, could consistently feed Kessel and give the Leafs a year to evaluate things, with no longterm commitment.

What happens? I'm guessing that they over-pay and try to sign Clarkson or Horton instead. I also think that if they get what they want, that Kessel may start the season on another team.

All respect in the world to the both of you, but... a Wings and a Habs fan having a back-and-forth about my team.... can't take it seriously, lol

Have never/will never stand for the Habs and the same pretty much holds true with the Wings

Ottawa will give them a battle for Clarkson now, and with Seguin and Peverly gone, that might just be enough dough saved for Horton to stay. I don't have a Bruins ledger in front of me, but I know they were pretty close to falling out the window right where the ceiling starts.
