Confidence doesnt equal being cocky. And Jordan wasn't stupid, he knew he was Jordan. You cant expect him to go around being totally humble, I mean come on, hes MICHAEL JORDAN!

Nothing wrong with being cocky if you can back it up. Kobe does just that.

If Kobe leads his team to a championship, he can be cocky. No one really cares abut second place, or in the Lakers case 7th place.

Shaq lead those teams. Shaq in the championship years was 100% unstoppable. The Lakers would have won those with or without Kobe. You saw what happened when Kobe ran Shaq out of town. No playoffs.
And Ill admit, Aikman wouldnt have won 3 super bowls without Emmitt, Irvin, Johnston, Novacek and such.

Don't get me wrong, I still love the Diesel. But the Lakers made the right move. The move for the future of the franchise.
And thats a huge stretch to say Shaq would have won without Kobe. They needed each other.

Well, yes the Lakers are in the playoffs now as a 7 seed, and the Heat as a 2 seed.
And yes given the fact that Kobe came into the league 4 years after Shaq, then Kobe will be in the league after Shaq retires. It also helps that Kobe came in when he was only 18 and shaq was probably 21 (not sure exactly).
Im not saying the Lakers made a wrong move picking Kobe over Shaq. Shaq is out of his prime, and Kobe is in his. Easy descision. But...when the Lakers won their championships, it was Shaq's Lakers. Not Kobe's.
Now that it is Kobe's team, we will see if he wins a championship. Honestly, until they get a decent player next to Kobe, I dont think they will win one.

Shaq never won anything without Kobe. He had Penny in his prime and didn't win jack. He's got Wade now and still won't win in the weak East. I understand your opinion of MJ on the court, but please don't make the mistake of discounting what Kobe did during the championship seasons. That just makes everything else you say look ignorant in comparison.

The Lakers are just now gelling as a unit. No matter what people say Kobe has made his teamates better.
Smush is a better player
Kwame is a better player
Walton is a better player
Sasha is a better player and so on and so on.

I didnt discount Kobe at all. I just said Shaq was the main guy. Jordan had Pippen, and Shaq had Kobe. Thats all im saying. So sorry to offend you lefty, hope were still friends. LOL.
Gar-Well you cant win with one player. Not even Jordan did that. But ill admit that Shaq has a better supporting cast than Kobe right now.
