disappointing HUGE pulls
Have you guys ever pulled an absolute monster of a card, and then had a RIDICULOUS time trying to trade it?
A card that made you incredibly happy when you pulled it and then proceeded to frustrate the heck out of you when trying to move it?
A card that you were sure would garner tons of interest and then you couldn't even get replies to your trade thread for it?
I've had a few in my collecting career, but the 2 most notable were as follows:
2011-12 SP Game used Famous faceoffs dual fight strap /2 Carcillo/Johnson
and most recently
2010-11 Heroes and Prospects update
Draft Day Stars game used number SILVER print run of /3
Ryan Nugent Hopkins (4 colors on the patch)
I actually traded the Dual fight strap after trying for about 18 months, and am currently struggling to try and turn the RNH into a PC card.
I would love to hear about someone else's struggles to trade a card that they were over the moon to pull from a pack.

Subban SP FWA RC...everyone wants to trade multiples for it like a bunch of cheap jersey cards instead of an equal FWA like Karlsson or a nice patch star AU...

Mine was not as nice as yours, but I managed to pull a 10/11 Donruss Colton Orr Boy of Winter auto/25.
I was very happy with it, as from what I have been told it is a difficult card to pull. But I cannot unload it for the life of me, and I live in Toronto!

I cannot give this card away .......
1999-00 Black Diamond - Double Piece of History - Wayne Gretzky Two Stick Pieces. Most collectors want only Jersey and Patch Card, and there are probably 20,000 Gretzky Fabric Cards on the market, but very few stick pieces, and none like this. Also, this is from an Issue when Black Diamond was a very good product, not the garbage Black Diamond that UD has put out over the last 10 years.
This card was pulled against astronomical odds, not like the cards of today where they are One Per Box.
Perhaps Black Diamond's poor performance in it's last 4 years issue is causing this problem.

Hit a Gaborik Significant Numbers /10 in a box break, no one wanted it, eventually I got fed up and put it on ebay as a last resort and someone paid $75 for it. On the other hand I pulled a John Moore rookie /4 from Titanium, I figured well its a low print run I should be able to get $30-40 for it from the right person, checked recent ebay sales and those rookies were selling for a mint, posted it for sale and got $900 for it.

Not sure I have anything for it but I love stick cards lol
It is funny how cards that you think you could move fast get stuck in a box and don't move forever

I remember that Moore selling for $900. Amazing timing for you, putting up a new and low numbered product at a time when set collectors were going crazy trying to finish the set.

centrehice: Are you kidding me? I don't see how people don't jump on that one. One of my all time favorite cards, I actually pulled one from a pack (sentimental story but I'll save everyone and skip it) but had to sell it during a rough patch a decade ago. Hard to believe you have that much trouble moving it. Amazing!

This is for sure a very unique and cool card....but today seems everyone is dazzled by the flashy patch auto's, although have to admit would love a Gretz AU but they are So expensive...back in the day when I was a newbie on Ebay I won one for $70 but I foolishly jumped the gun and left positive feedback before I got the card, ugh!!....needless to say, the guy kept my $$ and the card...:/
