I haven't found a trade partner or a fair sale offer on this one since I pulled it about two years ago. In one sale thread, where I dropped my sale price considerably from the last two that went on Ebay, and even garnered a comment from ITG high-end collector MikeFitz about how it was a "good asking price" in the thread, still no offers, not even low-ball ones. Am I missing something? Does this card suck? :P

O-O That card is SICKKK!!!!!! Stick/Jersey/hard signed AU /9 Probably out of my league but a Sakic collector I would think would be all over that beauty....it has to sell eventually.

This occurance happens to me almost every time I hit a huge card. About 80% of the time I am disappointed in what I sell/trade it for. 15% I'm happy with what I get for it and 5% of the time it sells quickly or for more than what I expected.
Lately, bought a box of ITG History of Hockey for $130 (after paying $240 for it when it first came out and sold everything for about $60) and pulled a Great Moments in Hockey History Gold 1/10 Patrick Roy, which has a nicer seam (prime jersey) than the three I have seen on eBay and there is next to no interest in it. I was hoping that combined with the Larry Murphy Autograph Buy Back card I could break even. Not even close, no one wants it.
Ravens_Creed, I am actually interested in that card :P Let me know if there is anything in my trade-list you like. There is a lot of base jerseys in there and some higher-end stuff hasn't even been listed. If you tell me what you collect maybe I can come up with something to offer. :)Master List: Hidden Content

Yup a few, both pulled at different card shops here in Vancouver:
11/12 UD SPA Gretzky SOTT *Redemption,was redeemed,sent to KSA in the unopened envelope,got a GEM 10!Starting asking $399.99 to $350 to $300,no bite....sold it at a local auction house $325 -30% fees :( !!
12/13 UD SPA Lemieux/Jage AUTHENTIC MOMENTS DUAL AUTO *Was so excited when pulled, thought it would get close to $400-$450 as the product was brand new! Nope, after 10-12 days, back and forth, sold for $250 !!
I think SPA doesnt like me :(

If Gretzky was in a Oilers jersey I am sure you could have moved it easily.

Great thread guys, good stories. Mine is not as high end as the others, but I nearly started a similar thread a few months back after a long time failing to move mine.
I was trying to trade a 2005/06 McDonalds Chasing the Stanley Cup Simon Gagne 007/100 BV$80.
I could not get even-BV offers on it when trying to trade down. I eventually found a taker for it and got two smaller cards that I am much happier with.
Thanks for the great thread idea. Keep the stories coming...

Well, the problems I am really facing are these:
1. Documented suggested BV from that 3rd Party that we all talk about is realistic to the odds of the pull itself, and if you were to break cases until you found one, you would go broke, even at the then selling price of $60.00 per box.
2. When there aren't thousands of these out there floating around, the perception is that the card must not be worth much.
3. Prospective Traders only want to trade for this card, at a very reduced price, probably because today they can now buy boxes for $275.00 to $500.00 that would contain similar cards in rarity and automatically refer the simpleness of pulling something that difficult today, and not using a correct comparison against the outlandish odds against pulling the same card in the year 2000.
4. Potential Traders are mortified that the 3rd Party suggested value of this card is well over $200.00 and offer all kinds of junk in return, thinking that this may entice a real bite.
I guess the biggest problem I am finding is that people basically want this card in exchange for a bunch of No-Hoper Young Guns from 2005-2013 that consistently sell for $1.00 each on eBay.

For some reason I notice that Patrick Roy is far less popular then it used to be. Probably because he stop playing for a while now and has so many cards. Let not forget he his the player with the most card produce in hockey with 7,766 cards to date... I also notice Brodeur cards seem to have slowed down too. I guess collector are after newer stars.
Last spring, I started to make huge trade list in the main trading forum with all my 5,636 cards that are either insert, RC, Serial, Memorabilia or Auto. I realize that cards that I never got interest, suddenly got interest or are traded now. So I think it's all on how we promote them. While I list all my cards in the inventory. The forum search will land me much more visibility. So I coded a trade list page where only the entries with images will show up on the page and this in how I uploaded images, basically eliminate the base cards. So it's easy to maintain a forum post using this trade list. Note that their is no link to get to this page, you need to know the link but mainly anyone using the inventory can get their list of traders with images.

Just change the userid by your forum userid. If you do not know your forum userid hit the "My Profile" link on the top right on the forum and the number before the username in the internet address is the userid. I think it's all about visibility and all nice cards can find a nice home unless you are too difficult or limited in your want list.
