That's the biggest thing for so many teams right now. And it's not like it's the depth guys that are there to warm the bench for 50 minutes of the game. Habs are down Pacioretty, Briere, and Emelin. That's two (presumptive) top six forwards and a top 4 d-man. Tough row to hoe.
Same goes for the Rangers without Nash in the lineup. Imagine having to go a month without your #1 goalie, who plays in 65+ games a year, like Nashville & Rinne. Too many key guys hurt around the NHL.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

You are not wrong. Nyquist would be on the 2nd line on half the teams in the league, but Babcock and Holland have overpaid for Cleary, and Samuelsson, and for some stupid reason they would rather have 2 Thumber Ham-fisted morons, one that doesn't even try (Samuelsson), than Nyquist who has all the savy in the World.
Bertuzzi is at least getting points in the Red Wings off-nights when the rest of the team has fallen asleep. Yes, he's too long in the tooth, but he has cost the Red Wings little in risk.

My Leafs record shows better than how they are playing. Power play and penalty kill is what has carried them so far. They don't win many faceoffs so are always starting without the puck .They have way to many giveaways (think they lead the league) but are close to the top in takeaways. They need to find a way to create sustained pressure in the other teams end. Most nights it is a rush with a shot attempt then out they go, back onto the defenive. Need to hit more and defiantly need to shot the puck more. Other than that things are good.

My Leafs have a decent record but aren't playing well enough right now. The tandem of Reimer/Bernier is really good though, so that's an upside. However, the Leafs can't continue to get out-shot every night and still expect to win. It'll hurt them in the end if they don't switch things around.

I'm sorry....there is an NHL team in Buffalo? I thought they were a AHL...they are playing like it. Painful...very painful to watch.

Burrows Hansen and (supposedly) Booth represent three of the top six going down. The Canucks are lucky that their third line guys are just fine moving up.
