Yesterday I went to an appearance at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN, to meet and get autographs from current Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook. I got two cards signed, for free.

Yesterday I went to an appearance at an auto dealership in Lisle, IL, to meet and get autographs from current Chicago Blackhawks Andrew Shaw. I got 1 8x10 signed of Shaw holding the Stanley Cup, for free.

Today I went to the Fanatics Authentics Sports Spectacular show at the Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. While there, I was able to get two free autographs, one on a card, and one on a 5x7, from former Chicago Bears quarterback Bob Avellini.

Then, I paid for 2 autographs from the controversial former baseball star Jose Canseco. I got one 1987 Topps card signed for my set, and inscribed with 40/40, and one authentic baseball signed, inscribed with '88 MVP' and also '4'0/40'.

As I was leaving, I bumped into Joe Theismann, who was also leaving, and I shook his hand, but didn't have anything ready for him to sign. I then followed him a bit trying to catch up with him and get him to sign the admission ticket, but he disappeared inside Gibson's, a well-known Chicago Steakhouse.

Yesterday, I went to a radio show appearance by Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson, and was able to get four cards and one 11x14 signed, for free, in Prospect Heights, IL.

While on vacation in Arizona, I decided to take in a Arizona Diamondbacks game at Chase Field. I was able to go to the last home game of the opening series on Thursday, which was a day game. I was able to get autos pre-game from 3rd baseman Martin Prado (1 card), slugger Mark Trumbo (1 card), pitcher Randall Delgado (1 card), pitcher Josh Collmenter (1 card and 1 pocket schedule), and coach Mark Reed on the same pocket schedule. I just missed Paul Goldschmidt, who was signing just before the anthem, but otherwise, I was happy to get Trumbo and Prado.

Before I went on vacation in Arizona, I found a free signing not too far from where I was staying. So, on Saturday, I went to the Cox Solutions Store grand opening in Chandler, AZ, and met former Cy Young Award winner and former Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Webb. Mr. Webb signed 7 cards and 1 ball, which he inscribed with "'06 NL CY", for free.

Yesterday evening, I attended a Chicago Bulls Road Watch Party at the AT&T Store in downtown Chicago on Michigan Avenue, where they had members of the Luvabulls, mascot Benny the Bull, and 3-time NBA Champion Toni Kukoc in attendance. I had Mr. Kukoc sign 6 cards and 1 8x10 photo, and I also had Benny the Bull sign his promotional 8 1/2 x 11 photo, all for free.
