Team Canada Looks Bothered
Crosby trying to be inventive, but seemingly looks lost on the larger ice. He's been up to exactly nothing.
Kunitz not even playing with Crosby now, so much for the nanny state. Began the tournament making stupid plays, now cannot bury any chances.
Carter - huge surprise, skating well, and looking for work. Same with Nash & Benn on occasion.
Getzlaf - looks like he'd rather be at a peeler bar than playing Hockey, needs to lay somebody out with a hit and get out of his coma.
Sharpe - not skating like he should be on this big ice.
Defense - Running the show, acting like gold medal winners and doing half of the scoring. Team Canada's D is carrying the team and the forwards need to wake the fire-truck-up.
The rest of the team, passengers. If Canada played team USA tomorrow they would lose 6-1 .
Going into the 3rd tied with Finland. They could lose this game and have to play Russia.Last edited by centrehice; 02-16-2014 at 02:51 PM.

This is not one for the DVD collection, that's for sure. I'm still baffled by the decision to scratch St. Louis and Subban. They've given Hamhius like 4 minutes...in a game where a spark is needed, this is the place for a guy like P.K.
It's like Canada is playing for a draw. You play to win the game!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Agree with most of your comments, all the lesser talented team's are employing the Infuriating old school Devil's trap, and in a 1 game format, Yikes!!! Even the Swiss are competitive, think they lost 1-0 to a "better" team in their last game.
as for individual's
Doughty: Holy cow!!!
Bergeron: doing what he always does, playing smart, patient, detail orientated hockey, waiting to capitalize...play-off style hockey...
and Carter is working hard...
The rest of the D as well, as for the forwards, looks like there is no room for anything fancy at all, with all that talent,
it still looks like the best bet is to dump it in, get possession and feed the D, and just get it on net and hope for a dirty goal....the Defense almost out think themselves they have so much time to take a point shot, they are allowed to skate in so close and try to make a perfect shot...and miss.

Overtime against Finland …… Jaezus.
Finland has been playing for the Shootout since they tied the game in the 2nd. They have spent the last 1 1/2 periods in their own end playing defense in hope that they can go to the Shootout. They aren't interested in winning in regulation.
This is why I hate Olympic Hockey. A team with less talent only knows that they have to hold on for the shootout, then it's a crap-shoot.

Carter might have gotten his stick on that. Have to see it in super slo-mo.

If the goal stands for Doughty that will mean 6 of 11 total TC goals scored by the Defense.

The winning goal came 15 seconds after I put on my 2002 Team Canada sweatshirt, that had the same effect in Salt Lake.

Yup...seems to be the one, hopefully fatal flaw for the euro's...all 5 players retreat..too far, leaving the D some space to make some plays.
