Biggest tip, do not use eBay auction. it is the complete liquidation of an asset (card) and it will give you the lowest amount in return. Always use Buy it Now and give the Best Offer option.

Ive had cards that ive picked up here on SCF for 50-60$ because everybody else on ebay ran them on auctions and that was the average going price. Throw them up on ebay as BIN or best offer, and have sold in a couple hours for 100$+ easily. Reason being, you get a couple guys just low bidding on a card, then you have one guy with a deep pocket that will pay whatever to get it. Card is at 50$ on auction, he probably snipes a last second bid of about 100$ to guarantee the win. All in all, he wins the card for a little over 50$. Put that same card on Buy it Now or best offer, that same deep pocket would have no problem offering you 100$ for your card. Boom, 40$ more because you BIN'd it.

Only time auction will bring u more is because two people are going crazy in a bidding war, and then some times they realize it and dont pay for it.

Also goes for the same reason why u can buy cards on auction (steals), then fire them right back up for triple the price as BIN and sell them for more.

I've been selling mostly just very low end stuff so I don't think I'd have much success with this but I'm gonna give this a shot with a decent auto.

I've sold tons of singles in my description.

    Take for example: Peter Forsberg

Every Peter Forsberg card I sell I have used the correct description for his attributes in my Card Selling Header:

    Floppa
    Diver
    Princess
    Whiner
    Diving Princess
    Divealanche
    Stick-Hack

They draw attention to the auction.

I also use the word "Thumber" "Bum", or "Pylon" in my auction header, when that specific player is a Bum, a Thumber or a Pylon. It's all about marketing and providing "Good Bait" for all the fish that may not want to bite.

Floppa is the least desirable player that has ever donned skates. He's a GD baby as was evidenced this week about his whining about Canadian Referees for the Olympic Final.

The referees allowed the teams to play, did not get in the way, and the players decided that Sweden was the Pee Wee team, not Canada.

I am so happy about the Gold Medal that I am over the moon.

Just an update, since ditching auctions and putting all my cards up as BIN items I have been selling at a much better rate, I've even sold some base cards. I think what it is, since most of my cards up there are all very low value, nobody wants to bid on a $1-$2 card and wait for the auction to end, they want it right away.

If your going to upload multiple cards at once i suggest using Turbo Lister 2 -You can upload multiple auctions at once-When you create a new item after entering in title and category you can edit item specifics and i use it and it helps because it attracts the team collector player collector set collector...and free shipping attracts bidders..think of Ebay as the world's largest yard sale people will come as long as there as a deal to be made-And when you sell something send the buyer a free card or two people like free things and they may come back and bid on more items

i like to sell many of my cards in auctions and have the starting bid the lowest amount I would take for the card. Often I check completed listings and list a couple bucks above the last completed sale. Works decently. My buy it now best offer auctions rarely have an offers or sale that well for me at least.

What about buying an ebay Basic Store, $20/month, gives you 150 free listings per month. Has anyone done this? If your selling volume, or some high end stuff, seems worthwhile to save on % fee of sales, or am I incorrect about the last part, and the free part is only for the listing fee?
