Just re-watched the video, she said one curse word in the whole 5:40 video. And I believe the band at the end, which I didn't watch the first time, said the F word once. You are right. How could I ever have missed all of that offensive language? Must not have been paying attention. SMH

Well, there's two instances you found on a second watch. But enough with the deflections. Explain to me how a word with a definition starting with "the belief that..." is, in fact, not a belief.

Find someone on this messageboard that agrees with you.

Did you find more instances? Or was it just another deflection on your part. Much like how you minimized the speaker in the video. Did you watch the video? Did you hear what the "pretty girl" had to say? She explained it perfectly. You didn't refute her logic.

I don't have to. The dictionary does. Any definition that starts with "The belief that" can only mean the word refers to a belief. Again, Agnosticism is not the knowledge that knowledge of God is impossible. It's the Belief that God is unknowable. Look at that again.
It's the belief.

No. It was letting you know that you missed some things which were said (shocker) and posted a video that you should not have. I let you know about it before someone reported you. You're welcome.
I didn't minimize the speaker so much as compare her to the dictionary with definitions that don't require a video and incredibly long (and condescending) explanation. It simply says "The belief that" and tells you what agnosticism is the belief of. Simple.
Yes. I'm the one who pointed out that you posted inappropriate material. And since it was oh so difficult to find, you know I actually watched, and listened.
You didn't catch it on the first try. Did you watch it before you posted it?
Again, I'm the one who heard her swearing, which you didn't. The fact you're questioning this shows you ignore facts.
I didn't. The thing is there are some things even logic is wrong about, and this is one of them. Sure, you can use roundabout logic to say what she says. You can also use roundabout logic to assume a dinette set is really tiny, that doesn't make it true.
In this case, I don't need to use logic. I have a dictionary. You should get one.

Also, I called her "somewhat pretty". Get something right at least.

I can do it this way:
There are a lot of definitions for the word view, all of which can be viewed here: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/view
But the most relevant meaning would be: "an opinion or judgment colored by the feeling or bias of its holder".
And opinion means: "a belief, judgment, or way of thinking about something : what someone thinks about a particular thing"
So the word regards opinion, judgement, belief, though it does take a little thought, and understanding what the word "view" means to decipher this code.
Ok. The word refers to one, a person. So it is a person who what, who believes something, believes what, believes it's impossible to know if God exists or not.
So an agnostic is a person who believes...I don't have to go any farther. It's right there in the definition you gave me, simple as can be.
Here, I'll show you again
One who believes
Again, tough to decipher, but going in to learn, instead of prove a made up point, is the key to understanding the first three words of a sentence.
I'm just going to point out you presented urbandictionary.com as a legitimate source material and move on. That's not worth a response. I can post whatever I want there, so can you. In fact, for all I know, you literally posted that yourself. I'm not even going to go into what your posting that says about you, just point out that it was suggested I look up the definition for "steak and blow job day" next.
Well done. All intellectual conversations lead to urban flipping dictionary.
That again describes a belief. You hold a belief. You can literally replace "a person who holds" with "One who believes". You're giving me definitions that directly prove my point. Funny how you like to accuse me of roundabout arguments, but after inappropriate video and post after post of garbage, you finally give some actual facts, and they overwhelmingly call it a belief, view or opinion.
Except for that arrogance one, but you know, urban dictionary.
I've already gone over that "view" in this context means "belief". I won't go into the hazards of Wikipedia.
So? Atheists claim there is no God. Theists claim there is a God. Those are absolute statements. Agnostics don't know and, in fact, BELIEVE it's impossible to.
The atheist who holds open the possibility of God (ie: thinks s/he knows God doesn't exist) is no different from the man who goes to church and has no faith. Both are agnostic because of their actual BELIEFS.
Exactly. You call yourself an atheist. By definition, you "know" god doesn't exist because by calling yourself an atheist you claim the absolute that there is no God. As a theist, I claim the absolute that there is. Someone who can't make a decision is an agnostic. I've explained this before, you continue to call yourself atheist, which is to claim to know god doesn't exist. Just as you see theists as thinking they know god does exist.
We can't know. You can call us all agnostics, ignorant or idiots, it doesn't matter. What you're using agnosticism to describe is not actual agnosticism. It's human limitation.
What I did notice is 2 things:
1: only 2 of those didn't call agnosticism a belief.
2: one of those 2 was urban dictionary.
Nuff said.Last edited by Wickabee; 03-18-2014 at 08:56 PM.

Continue in your ignorance. It's a shame everyone else reading this is too busy being entertained by your embarrassment to bother setting you straight. They at least owe you that for the time you spend here.

Oh listen to it.
You posted no less than 5 definitions from reputable sources, 4 of which outright agreed with my assessment (which has always been straight from a dictionary, never youtube), and 1 of which did agree with my assessment, but weakly allowed for yours. Using "opinion" "view" "judgment" to try and say it isn't a belief is laughable.
Add in the definition I gave and 5 say I'm right while only one says you're right, but it says I'm right too. In sports terms, it's 5.5 - 0.5. But you're right. I'm the embarrassed one.
You posted a video with inappropriate language that gave us the wisdom of a teenage girl as a legitimate means to refute the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. But you're right, I'm the embarrassed one.
I'm so embarrassed that you took the time to prove yourself wrong. I'm so embarrassed I used the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as a source while you chose YouTube and urban dictionary as sources. I'm embarrassed that I paid enough attention to the video to catch two instances of profanity, while you posted without paying enough attention to catch even one. I am certainly embarrassed that you have done little more than prove you work on half the story, half the definition, half the video. You have even only respond to half a post most of the time. Yup, I sure am embarrassed about all that.
I bet youre going to tell me I'm the one projecting too. Usually happens about this point.
