    Now Toews Is Out

A typical attempt to injure hit by Orprik. Somebody needs to take this guy out, as he is a coward and will not fight.

You listen to Mike Millbury way too much. That was absolutely a clean hit. Tell Toews to pick his head up next time and he probably wont be hurt right now. I want to know how that was an attempt to injure someone? Please explain to me Tim. Orpik always has and always will hit people consistently and will hit them hard. Because he got hurt your going to tell me he tried to hurt him. No Way. Has Orpik done things in his career that he should not have? Yes

That's a textbook boarding call in youth hockey. Could have been a boarding in that game as well. Either way it was a 2 minute minor at the most.

Spent the last few hours reviewing this on 3 different networks. It's evident from the TSN corner camera that Orprik leaves the ice. You have to really watch, the forward skate comes off about one foot, and the rear skate about 4-5 inches.

    Charging.

Orprik says that this play happens at least 10 times per game, in every game. Yeah, sure it does Brooks.

That's actually the incorrect interpretation of the charging rule. If a player leaves the ice after making initial contact with the player as a result of a mere follow-through I.E. when kronwall kronwall's somebody, the hit is considered clean. If there is a deliberate jump into the air before the contact is made, then charging would be the appropriate call. If you look clearly at the replay, orpik barely leaves the ice well after making initial contact with Tows, who is in a lower, slouched position when taking the hit.

I don't know, I don't see it as an attempt to injure and he glided in for the hit. The only issue I have with it is that he did leave his feet, which should have been called. Toews was clearly guilty of not keep his head up coming in along the boards. Either way it sucks that Toews is injured.
