All the penalties are either for launching prior to contact or for making head contact. According to Shanny all situations where a player leaves the ice after initial contact is made and without making head contact are LEGAL hits.

Toews out until the playoffs, which is often code for:
Done for the year. Now is the time for LA to win all their remaining games and force Chicago to have to play the Ducks instead of the Avalanche.

Wanna bet on that? They will never slip to 7th and the Ducks will never slide to 3rd.

I'd like to see it. Or I want them to play San Jose. They will have too easy of a time with Colorado with Duchene gone.
I want Chicago winning the Stanley Cup like I want all my teeth pulled with pliers and no anesthetic.Last edited by centrehice; 04-02-2014 at 06:44 PM.

That hit by Orpik was legal, just about as legal as the hit by Murray. I'll say it again. Pittsburgh gets preferential treatment by the league. Any other team throws the same hit Orpik did = some form of fine and/or suspension.

If that hit was on Crosby all we'd be hearing is "he should keep his head up" or "he's a crybaby and embellished it".

If Crosby ever got hit that hard, he'd have to retire. But first he'd hold a press conference so that he could whine.
