This video completely explains what I just said as well...

I know what charging is, why are you acting like my Dad?

Saw the hit live, at first it looked like he launched himself at Toews. On the one billion replays they showed he didn't leave the ice surface after contact was made. So no penalty and a non-issue. But it still sucks that one of the greatest players to watch might not be ready for a playoff run.

Somebody mentioned Kronwall. He is charging on half of his hits as well, just not called for it. Your skates cannot come off the ice, follow-through or no follow-through.

Orpik is a head-hunter, if he gets carted off on a stretcher again, it will be because somebody decided to do something about it.

Clean hit, no action will be taken.

I'll chime in with a clean hit opinion as well.... and I cannot stand the Penguins.

Is this really a comment someone like you should be making ...... dad? If this can actually be said by you while keeping a straight face, I gotta ask .... how many "kids" do you have on this site?

You state you know what charging is ..... then you say this - "Your skates cannot come off the ice, follow-through or no follow-through."

If you watched the video your "dad" posted, it states that skates often do come off the ice during a hit, especially a large hit. Your skates can come off the ice during the hit as long as you dont launch yourself into the hit. It looked like Orpiks skates did come off the ice ..... about 1/10th of a second before he made contact ( in real time of course ).

To me, it looked like a clean hit. It was a mid tier player hitting a superstar .... so we'll see if that factors into the NHLs decision.

Holy hair splitting...lol, Toews is day to day and will be fine, tougher than a $ steak...Orpik will be fine, can't make a guy fight if he doesn't want to...But Crosby, Orpik should have just painted a bulls eye on his teammate....That is the action that will be taken, someone is going light up #87 like Orpik did Toews, but he won't be day to day with his glass head, month to month...to month at best...If I was a Pens fan I would be livid at Orpik, it was a DUMB thing to do...but than again Blysma isn't the brightest bulb around either, saying he would rather his team play a "grind it out game" against the Flyer's over a "run a gun game"...That suited Philly just fine and they pushed the Pen's around with 2 fairly easy back to back wins.

That was in reference to Kronwalls hits, not this one by Orpik. One poster was defending Kronwall when He obviously also charges. If your follow through makes you leave the ice, then, yes that is charging. You aren't allowed to tumble head-long over the player you hit or into the boards at any time while you are airborne
