My collection is becoming increasingly ITG-based as I find they are the only company that makes an effort to come out with original products. While ITG does what they can without a licence, I can't understand what keeps UD and Panini from releasing something other than the usual crap with a fancy new title. While ITG has between the pipes, why can't UD/Panini release a goalie-centric set for example with the NHL licence? They have the power of an NHL licence, why don't they do something exciting with it???!!!

Based on value, probably the worst product of the year.

I see a movement here. I have been sensing it for a while and I am a huge advocate of it. 95% of my box purchases this year have been ITG. The sets I'm collecting are ITG. I haven't collected an Upper Deck set since 11-12. I feel like ITG has such a better second market value and I have seen some sets sell well years later, as I am trying to collect some of them! There will always be staple products like Young Guns, SP Authentic and The Cup, but other than that nothing is desirable except the low printed cards and sick patches. Some people may like... lets say Panini Elite and collect the whole set. And that's good, it's a hobby and it makes them feel better having those cards.
Playbook, is it worth it? Nope. I participated in a couple breaks because I was bored and seeing someone open it and knowing I could get a hit is like opening a box to me. People like the sensation of busting wax, that's why they buy boxes. Anyways, I immediately told myself I was an idiot for participating in 3 cards getting pulled but I nailed a Gordie Howe /50 auto. I did the same thing with Prizm but I feel the Playbook auto of Gordie Howe will sell slightly better than Prizm.Master List: Hidden Content

Since I'm so busy putting on the show (on top of a very busy career) I have simplified my collecting and box purchases. I was drawn to Playbook because of the amazing card designs and creativity. I won't comment on value because that's a more encompassing issue across the hobby and not necessarily Playbook's fault. All I can say is I made a purchase decision based on my interest and budget and had fun breaking my packs at The Toronto Card Show After Party this past Sunday. Maybe having 20+ people gathered around me added to the thrill. But I will say this, I really enjoyed the pack breaks and think Panini did an outstanding job on Playbook. There is always room for improvement and the secondary value is a hobby wide issue that can be a thread unto itself. But, overall, Panini gets a thumbs up for Playbook.

So at $90.00 per box, the initial lowest cost per card is $30.00. 3 cards Total?
It also appears that one out of every 3 cards is a Base Card #/249. Is this correct? Wow, if so, that is highway robbery for a $2.00-$3.00 re-sale card.
