Now my opinion on the subject is this:
I bought one off ebay and paid 140 for it, IMO maybe a little too much, but since I am making a set of these to me its worth it since I may not come across another one for a while. Now with that said, I am bidding on another one at 100 with just a little while to go. As I said, the first one to me was worth buying strictly for set purposes. If I win the second one, then I would sell it hopefully for 115-125, that would be a fair price, 1/2 BV is about right for an uncirculated rc IMO. And I guess I am a chump then right halekulani???

yep.
look at it this way...paul's cards are not being bought for full bv so there's no reason for you to pay more than anyone else unless it's entirely for personal reasons. from a logical standpoint, you shouldn't have to pay more if you don't have to. if you have money to spend or are in a rush, then it's your money being used at your discretion. from my standpoint, i don't think it's really worth the extra 30 bucks you just spent.

Well, two things then. 1) I am making the set of xfractors, and how often do you think that card will show up, 4-5 times? To me it's worth it because I am making the set. 2) ANY card is only worth what someone else will pay for it, which brings me back to my first point if I am making the set it is worth it if I think I might not be able to find one somewhere down the road.
Also, what if he plays well again next season and the card goes up maybe another 100 or so, probably just wishful thinking but what if? I guess it's all up to the individual and their opinion on the card.
