Identify this patch - Stars Modano

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-10-HKY-...item25900c28a9

At first I thought it had to be the Mooterus but I can't seem to match it up. I may be going blind from squinting to see.

Love these Rookie Review cards but the patches for the Modanos have been weird. A lot of funky colors. Don't want any red in a Modano patch unless it's a Motown Madness type card.

Did they at any point wear this on their actual jerseys?

    Perhaps this?

The colors seem to work for the Toronto ASG patch. Weird but could be it

My guess would be that it's from a 1993 All Star jersey shoulder patch.

In fact I'm pretty sure it is based on this patch:

... which is from the middle of the other shoulder patch:

Right jersey, but wrong patch. It is from the opposite shoulder patch.

Love the look of the early 90's All Star Jerseys

I guess I wasn't really clear enough about that, I sort of assumed that everyone would know that's the patch I was talking about that matched the OP's card in question.

The picture of the all star patch was simply pointing out that there were other Modano cards with patches from the '93 All Star jersey. Your graphic presentation is much better and clearer than mine tho.

Sorry about that. The first time I read your post I didn't notice you made mention of the other shoulder patch.

No worries, my original post was pretty ambiguous. At least the mystery has been solved!

You guys are awesome. Wow. I would have never thought of an All-Star jersey. Especially one from 1993.

Question: There are 100 copies of that card. Would all of the jersey pieces be from the same jersey or would they have used multiple jerseys?

This is fun! I would say there's definitely at least 2 jerseys based on this card:

I also came across this one which had me a bit puzzled:

    That's a Stanley Cup 100th Anniversary patch from 1993...

From what I could find, it looks like the teams wore them on their jerseys throughout the 92-93 season and based on the front of the Coffey All Star gamer, those patches were also on the fronts of the All-Star jerseys:

So anyway, my guess is that 2 jerseys were used. Now I better get back to work!
