Yakupov is -33 on +/- and Eberle is -11
Actually Hall / Eberle / RHH / Perron did pretty well for the coach. They compete!
Heck even Mark Arcobello (1st year player) is ahead of Yakupov (2nd year player) on the Oilers line-up.
Collectors have spoke up with their wallets on Yakupov.

Lots of hope and lots of guys that went first overall that had slow starts. Thornton had 7 points his first year and 41 his second and will make the HOF.
I think a good comparable is Kessel, he had a slow start to his career as well.

Stamkos FW Autos were selling under $100 in his rookie year ..... now they hit $200+. On the flip side, Steve Masons were selling crazy back in 08/09 ..... now look where he is.
1st overall picks just pan out now a days ...... they have for a long time now.
2013 - MacKinnon
2012 - Yakupov
2011 - RNH
2010 - Hall
2009 - Tavares
2008 - Stamkos
2007 - Kane
2006 - Johnson
2005 - Crosby
2004 - Ovechkin
2003 - Fleury
2002 - Nash
2001 - Kovalchuk
The obvious failure of a 1st pick from that list was EJ ..... seeing Backstrom / Staal / Toews / Kessel all picked after him.
Of course, some of the younger guys still have a bunch to prove ( heres looking at your Oilers guys ) ... but basically everyone down the list was / is / will be the face of a franchise.
