Jonathan Papelbon is gonna win the AL ROY in a landslide and if he keeps it up he is a contender for the CY Young and MVP.

I know the national sports media doesn't realize anything happens outside of New York and Boston. But if the American League rookie of the year isn't Verlander, the sports writers should turn in their laptops.

Papelbon for MVP? Slim chance, but hey, he will definitely get some votes. Cy Young? Kenny Rogers is off to an amazing start. But if Pap keeps it up, he will win ROY no problem. Verlander will be second.
In the NL, how about Turnbow? Two closers for ROY.

How come the name Liriano hasn't been thrown into contention yet?

The reason I mention MVP for Papelbon is because last season Mariano Rivera finished in the top 5 in the voting I believe and Papelbon is on pace to put up similar numbers.
And im saying "on pace" knowing that there is no way he will keep a 0.21 era through the whole season ,but if he does he has to get consideration as did Rivera last season. The Eck won MVP and the CY Young in the early '90s as a closer so there is a precedent.

I don't think Turnbow is eligible, is he? Hanley Ramirez might be a contender in the NL. There's lots of good candidates in the AL.

Papelbon should win hands down. He's been ridiculous.
As for NL, I like Hanley Ramirez too (turnbow isn't eligible), but I think Dan Uggla deserves it. Probably a close race with Fielder and Zimmerman.
