It's not something that just suddenly occurs.
I always had a few doubts and little by little I went over to the dark side....
Seriously though, I'm not sure if there was one particular moment that did it for me....it was just a culmination of several factors.
And it wasn't easy, I denied the fact I was an atheist for quite awhile until I finally came to terms with it.

With no hidden agenda I appreciate you taking the time to explain this.

Well I trust that you are being honest but its hard for me to understand. I wish I could tell you my whole testimony, not that I would change your mind but I just get excited telling it. I had some very remarkable moments when I was a baby Christian (recently born again).
Doubts are normal, sin is normal, I deal with these things everyday and I realize I will never be perfect, I am from a Catholic family but saw many problems there. God continued to pursue me even through my rejection years. Faith is hard but for me it became very real and I won't turn my back on it regardless how tough it gets.

I remember hearing a lot of testimonials about how people came to Christ when I attended church...
How Christ saved people from drugs, alcohol, abuse, etc.
How these people seemed genuinely happier now that they were "born again".
And believe it or not....I think this is fine.
I've got no problems with these people, they are bettering their lives and are happy.....by all means I wish them the best and if Jesus and Christianity is the way towards that, then go for it.
This is why I will NEVER be in favor of banning religion no matter how much I dislike it.
And I believe that this is a fundamental liberal principle.
Being able to accept that other people will do things you dislike and not feel that you must ban it or force them NOT to do it.....I will add the caveat that this only works if said people are NOT infringing on others rights....because if they are, then I WILL be in favor of a ban.
Anyway going back to Christianity.....why am I the way I am?
Why do I dislike it so much?
I wish I could properly explain all the reasons why, but I would literally be writing an essay at that point.
But I want to make something (once again) very clear.
YES, I dislike Christianity....A lot, I have never made that a secret.
YES, I bash Christianity.
HOWEVER....I do NOT hate Christians, I do NOT hate anyone simply for believing things I don't believe in.
What I dislike is the concept, the ideology, and other things that would take a lot to properly explain.
But I don't hate my mother who is deeply christian, nor my christian father, nor my christian sisters, nor the other 99% people I associate on a daily basis who are also christian.

Oh, look at what we have here. A liberal who ignores the liberal caused problems. Saginaw is no different then any other liberal ran towns. You must ignore inner city problems.

What exactly were you wanting to be defended? I'm honestly unsure and would like to know.
I'll still stand by my statement that your stereotype of all liberals just aren't true. Sure there are liberal programs that have issues and waste tax payer money. I'm not sure why that fact makes you think all liberals hate Christians, Whites, Cops, Guns, Job Creation, Freedom, Military, Getting Past The Race War. You'd do your arguments way more justice if you didn't claim these extreme stereotypes. I'm simply telling you that I know lots of liberal people who aren't lazy and work hard and don't think they deserve hand outs or look for them.
